TAPMET
Compuserve Aviation Weather
For use with Real Weather Pilot
The file TAPMET.SCR is a script for use with Tapcis. It is in ASCII
format and may be read and edited using a text editor. Before you can
run the script you will have to make a few editorial changes. This will
customize it to run on your computer. Follow the steps below to get the
script up and running.
> Copy TAPMET.SCR to your TAPCIS directory
Use a text editor to enter the following information in the editing areas
of the TAPMET.SCR script file. These areas are clearly marked with notes
within the file.
> Path to your capture file. (two places)
> Station Identifiers for requested weather.
Be sure to type the desired information using the same format as the
sample information, that appears in the script.
When all required entries have been made, save the file and start
TAPCIS.
> Go on-line using the <I>nteractive key.
To capture the requested weather reports begin at any "!" prompt:
> Press the <PgUp> key.
> When prompted for a file name, type TAPMET <Enter>.
The captured weather reports will be stored in a file named PCWMET.CAP
in your RWP directory. TAPMET will terminate your CompuServe session
automatically after it has captured the reports.
From the DOS prompt run RWPCIS PCWMET.CAP to convert the reports to
Real Weather Pilot format.
You will probably want to change the station identifiers for subsequent
Compuserve sessions. This may be done from within TAPCIS.
> Start Tapcis.
> Choose <E>dit a File.
> Choose F>ile.
> Type TAPMET.SCR <Enter>
> Change the station identifiers as required.
> Press <F7>
> Choose 1 Edit Complete.
You are now ready to go on-line as described above.
