  46. Run setup.exe (You must have already :p) install, run IMGTool.exe or
  47. use the link in "Start Menu > Programs > GTA3Mods".

  54. This is only a breif help section, proper help will come in a later
  55. version. If you need help that's not here, goto the editing forums at
  56. www.GTA3Forums.com - somebody there will be happy to help :).

  59. If GTA3 is having problems running after "replacing" a file inside a
  60. GTA3 archive, you've fallen victim to the nasty "replace bug" sorry
  61. about that, it's been fixed in this release so you won't have to worry
  62. about it again :)

  65. If you're getting an error about file size when trying to replace a
  66. file, you need to understand the way this works...
  67.  
  68. The replace feature is here to save time deleting a file and then
  69. adding a new one in it's place. If a file is lower or equal in filesize
  70. to the file you're replacing, theres no need to rebuild the archive, it
  71. and just be overwritten.

  78. Q. What does "Rebuild Archive" actually do?
  79.  
  80. A. When you delete a file from an archive, it's only getting deleted
  81. from the DIR file. This makes it totally invisible to everything that
  82. can read GTA3 IMG archives but the actual file still exists inside the
  83. IMG file. When you rebuild the archive, IMG Tool removes any
  84. "invisible files" in the IMG file. So basicly it saves harddrive space.

  87. Q. Will you teach me how to make textures/models?

  89. A. No. I'm not good with graphics :). A good place to get help would
  90. be GTA3Forums.com in the graphics or editing forums.

  93. Q. After replacing a file GTA3 crashes in some places, why?
  94. A. This was a bug in the replace feature from version 1.1. It's been
  95. fixed in this release, sorry for any inconvenience. (See help section)

  98. Q. I'm trying to replace a file and it's giving me an error about file
  99. size, wtf is up?
  100.  
  101. A. Well, to use the replace feature the file you're using to replace
  102. must be lower or equal in filesize. If it isn't you'll have to delete
  103. the file you want to replace in the IMG file and then add the new file
  104. with the name of the old one.

  107. Q. I've found a bug! What should I do?

  117. me the original?

  119. A. No! Didn't you see the warning?! You'll have to reinstall GTA3 to
  120. get the originals back. Pay more attention to warnings in future.
