  1. Micrografx Picture Publisher 5.0 Notes and CD Contents

  3. NOTE:     ALL LICENSE AGREEMENTS WILL BE ENFORCED.

  6. We know you will enjoy taking Picture Publisher 5.0 out for a test drive for the next
  7. 30 days.  We believe it won't take you that long to see the power and ease of use of this
  8. award winning image editor. We suggest you take a few minutes to go through the tutorials
  9. and the specialized tips and tricks in the online help.  The contents of the full retail
  10. version are listed below.  (With the full retail version you can actually run the program 
  11. from the CD and save valuable disk space.)   Enjoy the product and we look forward to

  14. OLE 2.0:
  15.  
  16. In order for OLE 2.0 to properly use compound file implementation
  17. it is recommended that share always be running in the autoexec.bat
  18. with the line SHARE /L:500 /F:5100.
  19.  
  20. PRINTING ISSUES:
  21.  
  22. If you print to a PostScript device and are experiencing problems 
  23. (for example, the image looks like it is printed at a low resolution), you can set 
  24. the PRINTSCALING=1 in the PP.INI file. 
  25.  
  26. To print optimally to PostScript printers, the GeneratePostScript=1 is set in the PP.INI
  27. which causes Picture Publisher to generate PostScript information.  
  28. It is automatically set to on with this installation.
  29. To disable this setting, change GeneratePostScript=0 in the PP.INI file.
  30.  
  31. If you want non-PostScript devices to send full color or grayscale information to the 
  32. printer driver, select the Use Printer Screening option in the Print dialog box. It is
  33. automatically set to on with this installation.
  34.  
  35. Note on HP DESKJET/INKJET Series printers:
  36. When using CMS, use the profile for the HP550C or obtain
  37. the specific profile for your printer model from KODAK.
  38.  
  39. SCANNING ISSUES:
  40.  
  41. NIKON COOLSCAN
  42. The Nikon Coolscan will require the .DLLs to be copied to the root directory of PICTPUB5
  43. in order to communicate with the scanner correctly.  The Nikon setup (from Nikon) puts the 
  44. drivers in the DEVICES subdirectory of Picture Publisher. You must use SCAN. The TWAIN 
  45. plugin module will not work at this time with PP50a so you cannot use ACQUIRE.

  87.           a remote SETUP.EXE can be used for users installing
  88.           remotely from the net.

  91.       PICTPUB5 subdirectory and run SETUP.EXE.
