  25. 1) BigFocus - what is that?
  26. ===========================
  27. BigFocus is SPEA's extensive function driver for AutoCAD 12 and 13 (DOS).
  28.  
  29. The BigFocus driver for DOS contains 3D functionality.
  30.  
  31. 2) Requirements:
  32. ================
  33.  This driver supports the following boards: V7-STORM PRO VL/ PCI in
  34.  single screen.
  35.  For the double screen  work  you need the  software packege
  36.  " DoubleScreen DOS "and  MIRAGE P64 VL/ PCI .

  39.   Monitor Type
  40.   ------------
  41.   This version of BigFocus is exclusively for use with multiscan
  42.   monitors.

  45. 3) What's new?
  46. ==============
  47.  
  48.   - V3DSETUP, the configuration dialogue for the 3D-Viewer has been
  49.     fitted with various new options (3DS reading modes and parameters).
  50.     Check the online help for more details.

  52.   - AutoCAD command 'MULTIPLE'
  53.     Not a new feature, but a common cause of problems which is often
  54.     overseen. If you use the AutoCAD MULTIPLE command do NOT move or
  55.     use any of the SPEA icon menus unil you have completed the AutoCAD
  56.     command! Doing so may cause your system to hang (for reasons which
  57.     SPEA has no influence over).

  59.   - SPEACONFIG (Hotkey)
  60.     Doubleclick assignments (mouse) are no longer supported!
  61.  
  62.   - Dual screen configurations with SPEA V7 boards: as of now, SPEA
  63.     supplies two 'SPEA DoubleScreen' packages:
  64.     (a) SPEA DoubleScreen DOS/Win
  65.     (b) SPEA DoubleScreen DOS
  66.  
  67.     Package (a) contains two V7-MERCURY P-64 boards and the software
  68.     necessary to run this combination under AutoCAD DOS/Windows, Windows
  69.     and MicroStation.

  71.     Package (b) contains a V7-STORM PRO and a V7-MIRAGE P-64 as well as
  72.     the software necessary to run this combination under AutoCAD DOS.

  75. 4) Installing BigFocus for DOS:
  76. ===============================
  77.   1. Put the disk 'BigFocus' in drive A: and enter:
  78.         A:
  79.         INSTALL
  80.      (Only for floppy disk installation, does not apply to CD ROM install.)
  81.  
  82.      According to whether you are using Rel. 12 or 13 version of
  83.      AutoCAD make your selection and follow the instructions on the screen.
  84.  
  85.   2. At the end of the installation a file named RCSETUP.BAT is created in
  86.      your SPEA\GDC directory. This file sets the necessary environment
  87.      variable (SPEAPOP) needed by the BigFocus tools.
  88.      Call RCSETUP.BAT before you reconfigure AutoCAD itself.

  90.   3. Start AutoCAD again and select the following driver when choosing
  91.      the display driver:

  93.          SPEA P9100 3D ADI 4.2 Display/Rendering - by SPEA AG
  94.  
  95.     NOTE (see also: RCSETUP.BAT):
  96.     If you have installed a dual screen configuration, then you can use the
  97.     following environment variables to determine the  secondary board
  98.     to be  force  with  the  SPEA S3  driver.
  99.     To do this make the following entry in the  RCSETUP.BAT file:

  101.         SET  RCPADIT=..\ACAD\DRV\RCS3.EXP
  102.  
  103.     If you have already installed a version of BigFocus and are using
  104.     this installation as an update, then the position of the SPEA icons
  105.     will be different to the last position saved when you restart AutoCAD.

  107. 5)  Notes concerning your manual
  108. ================================
  109. Please note that the manual included with this software only describes
  110. the DOS version of BigFocus 12. Note that the Tutor window is no longer
  111. available!
  112.  
  113. NOTE: Before you configure your digitizer please enter on the command line:
  114.         #logo_off
  115.       and after configuration
  116.         #logo_on
  117.       to avoid conflicts with BigFocus.
  118.

  121. - 3D-Win (3D-Viewer for AutoCAD for Windows Rel. 12 & 13)
