  21. A) Installation of the BigWin Driver
  22. ====================================
  23.   (Only for floppy disk installation. You have to start the installation
  24.   from SuperCD-ROM always with SPEAINST.)
  25.  
  26.   Start Windows and choose at the Program Manager:
  27.       FILE-RUN
  28.   and type A:\V7SETUP.

  30. B) Notes and Known Restrictions
  31. ===============================
  32. V7SETUP:
  33. --------
  34.   1) V7SETUP adds line "BASEADDRESS=0" in SYSTEM.INI under title
  35.   [CAR1K.DRV], required for BigWin. Only if system has more
  36.   than 32 MB RAM, SYSTEM.INI should be edited and this value
  37.   be changed to 1.
  38.  
  39.   2) If you run Windows programs using a modem you should change
  40.   in SYSTEM.INI under title [CAR1K.DRV] the line CHIPSYNC=0 to
  41.   CHIPSYNC=1.
  42.  
  43.   3) During the first installation the driver will be installed with the
  44.   lowest possible refresh rate at the chosen resolution.
  45.   If you use a high-class multi-sync monitor and you choose a
  46.   resolution 1024x768 and above, synchronisation problems may occur.
  47.   To prevent this, please choose the resolution 640x480 to start with.
  48.   Afterwards you can test and change to the preferred resolution
  49.   and refresh rate with the utility V7SETUP.

  51.   4) Installing graphics drivers for Windows and Virus Check Programs
  52.   Virus check programs, such as the DOS 6.0 internal one, which search
  53.   for changes at *.exe and *.com files, detect changes at the file
  54.   win.com after installing the SPEA V7 BigWin driver. This is not a
  55.   virus, because while installing the driver, driver supplements will
  56.   be saved in this file.

  58. SPEA BigWin Driver:
  59. -------------------
  60.   1) The SPEA V7 BigWin driver may not be used in 80286 based
  61.   systems.
  62.  
  63.   2) VDD limitation:  Cannot execute any VGA graphics modes in a
  64.   windowed mode. The XGA driver supplied by Microsoft has a similiar
  65.   limitation.

  67.   3) True Color:
  68.   If you use more than 15 icons in one program group, a message will
  69.   tell you that not all symbols are converted correctly. These symbols
  70.   will be displayed in black.

  75.   For Windows 95 SPEA offeres a special Win95 driver: BigWin95.
