  7. PLEASE NOTE: These drivers are for the SoundscapeVIVO card SNDCRD006ADWW only.  
  8. These drivers are not compatible with any other version of the Soundscape 
  9. card.  If you are unaware of which Soundscape card you own, please contact 
  10. Gateway technical support before installing these drivers.
  11.  
  12. PLEASE NOTE #2:  There are two things that you need to do in order to 
  13. install the Windows 95 drivers for the SoundscapeVIVO card.  You must 
  14. first install the Windows 95 drivers; then you must install the 
  15. applications disks.  Please read these instructions thoroughly and then 
  16. proceed with the installation.

  18. Installing the Windows 95 SoundscapeVIVO drivers for the first time
  19. (use these instructions if you have never had a SoundscapeVIVO card in your system before)
  20. 1. Insert SoundscapeVIVO PnP card and boot your PC.
  21.     Windows 95 will automatically detect the SoundscapeVIVO card.
  22.     
  23.     When prompted for which driver to install for the new hardware, you will 
  24.     need to choose "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer" and 
  25.     point the browser to were you extract the file at.
  26.  
  27. 2.  Click on OK.
  28.  
  29.     It will then prompt you to copy the files from a:\
  30.  
  31. 3.  Click on OK and it will begin copying files from the floppy.
  32. 4.  It will then detect the gameport joystick followed by the SoundscapeVIVO 
  33.     Sound Blaster emulation
  34.     Please note:      The joystick driver will need to come from the 
  35.     Windows 95 install media  or if already installed, Windows 95 will 
  36.     automatically copy the driver for you.

  38. If Windows 95 does not detect the SoundscapeVIVO Sound Blaster emulation or asks 
  39. you to re-boot before it detects the Sound Blaster emulation, there is a conflict 
  40. in the system. Please refer to the section titled "Driver Configurations."
  41.  
  42. Updating your Windows 95 SoundscapeVIVO drivers
  43. If you already have a version of the Windows 95 SoundscapeVIVO drivers 
  44. installed, the procedure to update the driver is very simple.
  45.  
  46. To access the driver configuration page:
  47.  
  48. 1.    Right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties."
  49. 2.    Select the Device Manager tab.
  50. 3.      Double-click on "Sound, video, and game controller."  This will expand that 
  51.     tree branch, allowing you to see the ENSONIQ SoundscapeVIVO Plug and Play driver.

  53. 4.    Double-click on the ENSONIQ SoundscapeVIVO Plug and Play branch and click "Driver."
  54. 5.    Click on "Change Driver" and then "Have Disk."
  55. 6.    Point the path for the drive to where you have placed the updated driver 
  56.     and click on "OK."
  57. 7.      Choose ENSONIQ SoundscapeVIVO Plug and Play and click on "OK."
  58. 8.      Click on "OK" again.
  59.  
  60. It will then copy the needed files to your hard drive and update your system.

  63. Installing the Application files and DOS Mode compatibility
  64.  
  65. Before continuing with your installation, you need to try playing both a .WAV file 
  66. and a .MID file using the media player program to be sure that your Soundscape card 
  67. is functioning normally.  If both files play, continue with these installation 
  68. instructions.  If either file does not play, please contact Gateway technical 
  69. support to trouble shoot your installation.

  71. Now that your drivers are installed and functioning normally, you need to install 
  72. the applications disks, which were included in your download, so that you have 
  73. DOS MODE compatibility and also the Voyetra applications.
  74.  
  75. The applications disks are very easy to install:
  76.  
  77. 1.  From the Explorer program, open the directory were you extracted the download
  78. 2.  Find the SETUP.EXE file and double click on the file
  79. 3.  Follow the directions on the screen
  80. 4.  When prompted, choose typical install
  81.  
  82. Continue following the prompts on the screen.  When you are prompted to insert disk 2, 
  83. simply click on OK and the system will continue copying files.  Once complete, 
  84. reboot your system for changes to take effect.

  86. Congratulations, you have now installed everything that you need in order to use 
  87. the SoundscapeVIVO card including the proper files to initialize your 
  88. SoundscapeVIVO card when you want to play games in DOS. 
  89.  
  90. When you want to play games is DOS, simply go to "Start" and then "Shut down and 
  91. restart in MS-DOS Mode"
  92.  
  93. You will see the SoundscapeVIVO card initialize.  All that you need to do now is 
  94. setup the games and you are ready to play.
