  1. The Wndows 95 Driver (DC6X0.PDR) supports Tekram IDE Caching Controller series,
  2. which use firmware/BIOS v2.0x. They are: DC-600CD/600CF/600C, DC-620B,
  3. DC-680T/C/CD.
  4.  
  5. *  DC-690C can work with this driver with JP3 set to pin 1-2. Check
  6. \WIN95.PCI\README.95 for some more.
  7. ** DC-690C/CD needs another driver, which is in \WIN95.PCI, to work with PnP
  8. feature.

  11. Please follow the following instuctions to install Windows 95 disk driver:
  12.  
  13. I. 1st time installation
  14.  
  15.    1. Install Windows 95 System
  16.    2. Create a DOS prompt
  17.    3. change directory to win95 system directory\inf
  18.         example: cd \windows\inf
  19.    4. EDIT "MSHDC.INF" file
  20.    5. find [BAD_IDE] section
  21.    6. add the following statement in [BAD_IDE] section
  22.       [BAD_IDE]
  23.       copyfiles=@esdi_506.pdr
  24.  
  25.    7. save MSHDC.INF file and exit DOS prompt
  26.  
  27.    8. Open "Control Panel"
  28.    9. Open "System" and Select "Device Manager"
  29.   10. Select "Hard disk controllers"
  30.   11. double click on "Standard ESDI IDE Controller"
  31.   12. Click on "Driver"
  32.   13. Click on "Change driver"
  33.   14. Click on "Have disk"
  34.   15. Change source path to "A:\win95"
  35.   16. Click on "OK"
  36.   17. Click on "OK"
  37.   18. Click on "Yes"    //restart pc yes/no?//

  42.   19. Open "Control Pannel"
  43.   20. Select "Add New Hardware"
  44.   21. Select "No"
  45.   22. Click on "Next"
  46.   23. Select "Hard disk controller"
  47.   24. Click on "Next"
  48.   25. Click on "Have disk"
  49.   26. Type "a:\win95"
  50.   27. select "Tekram IDE Cache Controller(DC6X0-CD(F))"
  51.   28. Click on "Next"
  52.   29. Click on "Next"
  53.   30. Click on "Finish"
  54.   31. Click on "Yes"   //restart pc yes/no?//
  55.   32. Shutdown the computer and reboot

  58.    Check if the Hard Disk Controller under device manager containing correct
  59.    information for DC6X0 driver.

  61. II. Driver update

  64.    2. Select "Hard disk controllers"
  65.    3. double click on "Tekram IDE Cache Controller(DC6X0-CD(F))"
  66.    4. Click on "driver"
  67.    5. Click on "Change driver"
  68.    6. Click on "Have disk"
  69.    7. Change source path to "A:\win95"
  70.    8. Click on "OK"
