  2. I. 1st time installation
  3.  
  4.    1. Install Windows 95
  5.    2. Open an MS-DOS Prompt
  6.    3. Type and execute "REGEDIT a:\DIR\pci.reg", where DIR would be the
  7.       directory containing the driver files
  8.    4. Click on "OK"
  9.    5. Shutdown the computer and reboot
  10.       
  11.    6. Select "My Computer"
  12.    7. Open "Control Panel"
  13.    8. Open "System"
  14.    9. click on "Device Manager"
  15.   10. double click on "Hard disk controllers"
  16.   11. Select "National Semiconductor Dual PCI IDE Controller (RMM Support Only)"
  17.   12. Click on "Remove"
  18.   13. Click on "OK"
  19.   14. Click on "No"   /*do not restart*/
  20.   
  21.   15. Go back to "Control Panel"
  22.   16. Double click on "Add New Hardware"
  23.   17. Click on "Next"
  24.   18. Select "No" and click on "Next"
  25.   19. Click on "Hard Disk Controllers"
  26.   20. Click on "Have disk..."
  27.   21. Change win95 driver path to "A:\win95"
  28.   22. Click on "OK"
  29.   23. Click on "Finished"
  30.   24. Shutdown the computer and reboot

  34.   25. During the "new hardware found" procedure as the system boots up,
  35.       DO NOT restart until the system finds the secondary PCI IDE controller
  36.  
  37. ====> After successful reboot

  39.    Check if the Hard Disk Controller under device manager contains correct
  40.    information for the PC87410 driver.

  42.   26. If yellow "!"s show up, please repeat steps 2 through 5

  44. II. Driver update
  45.  
  46.    1. Enter "Device Manager"
  47.    2. Select "Hard disk controllers"
  48.    3. Double click on "National Semiconductor Dual PCI IDE controller (PC87410)"
  49.    4. Click on "driver"
  50.    5. Click on "Change driver"
  51.    6. Click on "Have disk"
  52.    7. Change source path to "A:\win95"
  53.    8. Click on "OK"
