  5. Dear Customer,
  6. In response to your recent inquiry regarding your
  7. KX-P6100 or KX-P6500 laser printer, enclosed is
  8. the newest version of the printer driver which
  9. supports both WindowsÖ 3.1x and WindowsÖ 95. The
  10. New version has passed all testing. This software
  11. carries the same disclaimer as the final
  12. version (see next section for license agreement).
  13. Please report any problems or corrections needed
  14. in the driver to the above telephone numbers.
  15. The new version is available on our BBS and
  16. Internet Home Page for downloading.
  17. Thank you for not only bringing the problem
  18. to our attention, but for assisting us in
  19. providing other loyal customers, such as
  20. yourself, with this new driver support.
  21.  
  22. To install, run the setup program on disk 1.
  23. (Note: There is no need to uninstall
  24. the old version driver.
  25. The old driver will automatically be
  26. deleted when installing the new driver.)
  27. For Windows 95 (Non Plug & Play method)
  28. 1. Insert disk #1 in floppy drive A:.
  29. 2. Click the Start button, then Run.
  30. 3. At the prompt, type A:\setup and click OK
  31.    (Note: If the old driver is still loaded, you
  32.    will be prompted Do you want to remove it? Click OK.)
  33. 4. You will then be prompted, driver removed,
  34.    but the Delete.exe file must be deleted, Click OK.
  35.    (Note: Removal of the Delete.exe is
  36.    not necessary to install the new driver.)
  37. 5. Restart from step #2 above and follow prompts.
  38. 6. Have the printer connected and on line.
  39. 7. This driver supports several printers. Be
  40.    sure to select your printer model.

  42. For Windows 3.1x & Workgroups
  43. 1. Have the printer connected and on line.
  44. 2. From the Program Manager menu, click File.
  45.    Then click, Run....
  46. 3. Insert disk #1 into floppy drive A:.
  47. 4. At the prompt, type A:\setup and click OK
  48.    (Note: If the old driver is still loaded,
  49.    you will be prompted Do you  want to remove it?
  50.    Click OK.)
  51. 5. When prompted, click Printer On.
  52. 6. The new driver will then install.
  53.    (Note: If the message A later version file
  54.    is loaded, appears Click OK to replace it.)
  55. 7. This driver supports several printers.
  56.    Be sure to select your printer model.

  59. End-User License Agreement THIS IS A LEGAL AGREEMENT
  60. BETWEEN YOU AND PANASONIC. CAREFULLY READ ALL THE TERMS
  61. AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT PRIOR TO OPENING
  62. THE PACKET OF SOFTWARE PROGRAM.
  63. OPENING THE PACKET INDICATES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF
  64. THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. If you do not agree
  65. to these terms and conditions, return the unopened
  66. packet and the other components of the Panasonic
  67. product to the place of purchase and your money
  68. will be refunded. No refunds will be given for
  69. the products that have an opened packet
  70. or missing components.

  72. 1.      COPYRIGHT:
  73. Panasonic has the right to license or has been
  74. granted to license the enclosed Software
  75. Program ("SOFT-WARE"), developed and copyrighted
  76. by Kyushu Matsushita Electric Co., Ltd.
  77. or its licensor ("Licensor"). You acknowledge
  78. that you are receiving only a LIMITED LICENSE TO
  79. USE the SOFTWARE and related documentation, and
  80. that you shall obtain no title, ownership nor
  81. any other rights in or to the SOFTWARE and
  82. related documentation, all of which title
  83. and rights shall remain with Licensor
  84. and Panasonic.

  86. 2.      LICENSE:
  87. (1) You have the non-exclusive right to
  88. use the three (3) copies of the SOFTWARE
  89. on three (3) computers. (2) You may install
  90. the SOFTWARE into a network server and
  91. use the SOFTWARE in your network. But
  92. the number of the computer which uses the
  93. SOFTWARE simultaneously in the network is
  94. limited to the number defined in the
  95. previous section (1). So far as
  96. the computer operates as a network
  97. server, the copy of SOFTWARE that is
  98. installed into the network server
  99. is not counted as the number of
  100. copies hereof.  (3) You may not
  101. copy, reproduce, or permit to
  102. be copied or reproduced, the
  103. SOFTWARE or related documentation
  104. for any purpose, except that you
  105. may either (a) make a reasonable
  106. quantity of copies of the SOFTWARE
  107. solely for backup or archival purposes,
  108. or (b) transfer the SOFTWARE to a
  109. single hard disk, provided that you
  110. keep the original solely for backup
  111. or archival purposes. (4) You may
  112. not rent or lease the SOFTWARE, but
  113. you may transfer your right under
  114. this License Agreement on a per
  115. manent basis, provided that you
  116. transfer this Agreement, all copies
  117. of the SOFTWARE, all related documentation
  118. and your Panasonic product, and
  119. the recipient thereof agrees to
  120. the terms of this Agreement. (5)
  121. You may not reverse engineer, decompile or
  122. disassemble the SOFTWARE, except
  123. that in European Union and European
  124. Free Trade Association, you may
  125. have the limited right to reverse
  126. engineer, decompile or disassemble
  127. the SOFTWARE solely to the extent
  128. specifically permitted by the terms
  129. and conditions of Article 6 of the
  130. European Community's Directive for
  131. the Legal Protection of Computer Programs,
  132. OJL 122/42 (17 May 1991). (6) You may
  133. not use, copy, modify, alter, or transfer
  134. the SOFTWARE, or any copy thereof, in
  135. whole or in part, except as
  136. expressly provided in this Agreement.
  137. 3.    TERM:
  138. This license is effective until
  139. terminated. You may terminate this
  140. Agreement at any time by destroying
  141. the SOFTWARE and related documentation
  142. and all copies thereof. This license
  143. will also terminate if you fail to
  144. comply with any term or condition
  145. of this Agreement. Upon such termination,
  146. you agree to destroy all copies of the
  147. SOFTWARE and related documentation.
  148. 4.     LIMITED WARRANTY:
  149. Within ninety (90) days of your receipt of
  150. the SOFTWARE, Panasonic warrants that the
  151. storage media on which the SOFTWARE are
  152. furnished is free from defect in materials
  153. and workmanship under normal use, and that
  154. it will repair or at its option replace any
  155. defective media at no charge to you, provided
  156. that such defective media is returned to
  157. Panasonic within such ninety (90) days period.
  158. 5.    LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
  159. EXCEPT AS STATED ABOVE, NEITHER PANASONIC NOR
  160. PANASONIC'S SUPPLIER MAKES OR PASSES ON TO YOU
  161. OR OTHER THIRD PARTY, ANY WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION
  162. INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTY
  163. OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
  164. PURPOSE. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE
  165. FOREGOING, NEITHER PANASONIC NOR PANASONIC'S
  166. SUPPLIER WARRANTS THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE
  167. ERROR-FREE OR THAT IT WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.
  168. NEITHER PANASONIC NOR PANASONIC'S SUPPLIER
  169. SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE SUFFERED BY YOU
  170. INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL
  171. SPECIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS
  172. SHALL APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION
  173. WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE),
  174. STRICT PRODUCT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF
  175. SUCH PARTY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE
  176. POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
