  5. IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  7. Start Windows using the VGA drivers before installing the miro drivers!
  8.  
  9. Please check to make sure that the I/O adress 2E8 is not used. This address is
  10. used for example by the serial interface COM4!
  11.  
  12. Remove all other VGA boards from your computer or, if there is an onboard 
  13. VGA on the mainboard, disable the onboard VGA.
  14.  
  15. Please enable VIDEO-ROM Shadowing modifying the BIOS of your computer or using
  16. the ROM option of your Memory Manager (e.g. C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE ROM=C000-C800).
  17.  
  18. To install the software from hard disk, copy the installation disk
  19. to a directory and then assign the disk drive letter to this directory.
  20. First copy the DISK miroTWIN 2 and then DISK miroTWIN 1
  21. For example, copy the software to the C:\TMP directory and then call 
  22. SUBST A: C:\TMP.
  23.  
  24. If you are using a Windows network version, there may occur problems which
  25. are caused by the configuration. Install the miro software for each individual
  26. computer. The installation program needs to copy drivers, programs, and
  27. configuration files to the local Windows directory. In addition, the 
  28. installation program needs to modify the local SYSTEM.INI, WIN.INI, 
  29. and CONTROL.INI files and needs to create/rewrite the MWINTOOL.GRP group file.
  30. Use the Monitor-Select and the miroSUPERSCREEN programs to adapt each system to
  31. its equipment (e.g. monitor). In doing so, the three *.INI files mentioned above 
  32. are adapted to each computer system.

  34. If you change the dip-switch 2 to ON, you can boot from the main screen and work with
  35. TWINFACE.
  36.  
  37. LIMITATIONS
  38. ===============================================================================
  39. miroSCREENADJUST               Do not use with fixed-frequency monitors.
  40.                                Do not change the image size and position
  41.                                so that they differ from the default settings 
  42.                    too much, because doing so might damage the monitor.
  43.  
  44. DCI                            DCI is only supported in single screen.
  45.                                Note that you had to install VFW 1.1 D first.
  46.  
  47. miroTINTCONTROL                In 15/16/32 bit supported only the main card.
  48.  
  49. miroPINBOARD                   miroPINBOARD does not support modes with 16 colors
  50.                                or 1280 TrueColor mode.

  52. miroDRVIER CONTROL             Please use this tool only with single screen.

  57. PROBLEM                         SOLUTION

  59. Black icons on the             This only occurs, if you are using 256 colors or
  60. desktop                        more. This is a bug in the Windows Program Manager.

  62. Lines remain on the desktop    In the SYSTEM.INI file in the [928.DRV] section
  63.                                set VXPBLT=1.
  64.  
  65. You cannot enter anything      Press <ALT>.
  66. in the DOS box

  68. Memory problems                In the SYSTEM.INI file in the [386.Enh] section
  69. and system crashes             enter the EMMEXCLUDE=A000-EFFF.

  71. There is no WINTOOL group      Drag MWINTOOL.GRP from the drive window in the
  72. under the Norton Desktop       QUICK-ACESS group or to the DESKTOP.

  74. AVI files were played          In the WIN.INI file in the [drawdib] section
  75. very slow                      delete all entries.
  76.  
  77. Zoomed AVI files were played   Please check, that you have Video for Windows 1.1
  78. slow                           installed. Only this version supports the DCI
  79.                                interface.
  80.  
  81. Documents are displayed        Your applications are using DPI size for the
  82. crunshed               the whole TWINFACE screen. Please use the
  83.                    DPI-Sizer tool for adjusting the right dpi size.

  85. Black mouse cursor              You have installed the wrong TWINMODULE. Please

  89. Hang Ups in 15/16/32           Please remove your permanent or temporary swapdisk.
  90. bit color depth                Some hard disk problems may crash your system.

  92. miroPINBOARD is working        Please check that the miroPINBOARD is loading first
  93. wrong.                         in the WIN.INI. If you have there any load= entries,
  94.                                you had to move them to the end of the run= line.

  96. Sometimes wrong colours           Please use MODE CO80 from the command line to correct 
  97. in the dos box               this problem
