  3. This executable file is a self-decompressing file containing the following 2 files:
  4.  
  5. MINI406A SYS     18768     11-17-94      11:11a    (Version 3.02)
  6. CDROM    SYS     23824     01-10-95       4:47p       (Version 3.03)

  8. Both files are used to initialize your CD-ROM drive.  Those files will only work with Media Vision Sound cards that use the NCR SCSI2 chip set (e.g. Premium 3D or Pro 3D).   To upgrade to the new drivers, please perform the following steps:

  10. 1.  You should make a back up of the old file in the event your the new files are not compatible with your system.   (If you had a download problem, the files may be damaged and it is not a compatibility issue).  The assumption is made that the file that was downloaded was copied to a floppy disk, and the file has been ran (or you wont be reading this now).  The following instructions are assuming the files are on a floppy disk which is currently in drive A:.  Please substitute any directory names if you need to.

  12. 1.  Rename the old MINI406A.SYS and CDROM.SYS in your Media Vision home directory (e.g. \MEDVSN).
  13.       Example:  C:\MEDVSN\>REN MINI406A.SYS MINI406A.old [Press Enter]

  15. 2.  Copy the new MINI406A.SYS and CDROM.SYS in your Media Vision home directory.
  16.       Example:  C:\>COPY A:\*.*  C:\MEDVSN [Press Enter]

  18. 3.  Reboot your system.

  20. 4.  Your new drivers should load automatically and you can now use your CD ROM drive with the new drivers.
