Checking, please be patient
[Success]
SYSCHK has found no known PCI compliance issues.
Proceed with installation.
[NoProblem]
No problems were found by this test.
[Failure]
SYSCHK has found a problem which may require system modifications.
Please correct before proceeding with installation.
[NoPCIBiosFound]
SYSCHK could not find a PCI BIOS. SYSCHK will terminate.
[Compaq]
SYSCHK has detected a Compaq Presario or Prolinea Computer with
a BIOS date of 03/01/95 or earlier. To ensure correct PCI
initialization, contact Compaq for a BIOS upgrade or refer to
the EDGE 3D Installation Guide.
[MrBiosFound]
The system BIOS does not support the EDGE 3D Multimedia Accelerator.
Please contact your motherboard manufacturer for a BIOS upgrade
(MR BIOS V3.22 or later).
[AMI1993Found]
SYSCHK found AMI BIOS with a date of 3/1/95.
[AST104Found]
SYSCHK found AST BIOS version 1.04.
[Phoenix402Found]
SYSCHK found Phoenix BIOS version 4.02.
[MotherBoardBiosFailure]
Please do not put the EDGE 3D card into your PC until you have
upgraded your PCI system BIOS.
[AwardFound]
SYSCHK found Award BIOS dated January 1995 or ealier.
[Phoenix10XFound]
SYSCHK found Phoenix BIOS version 1.0x.
[AutoIntNotSupported]
This BIOS may not automatically assign interrupts or correctly enable
the EDGE 3D Multimedia Accelerator or other peripherals. You should
ensure that the PCI configuration options available under the system
BIOS setup set interrupts correctly. Press the appropriate key
(typically F1, F2 or DEL) to enter the setup program after the memory
test during system boot. Follow the on-screen instructions to select
the PCI configuration menu. Set interrupts to LEVEL and assign an
unused interrupt (typically 9, 10, or 11) to the slot containing the
EDGE 3D PCI card.
Note:
Automatic PCI interrupt assignment, adopted as a default by system
manufacturers, may generate conflicts between ISA and PCI interrupts.
You should manually set ISA card interrupt values to non-conflicting
values by observing which interrupt has been assigned to the EDGE 3D.
[AriesFound]
SYSCHK found an Intel Aries PCI bridge chip.
[MercuryFound]
SYSCHK found an Intel Mercury PCI bridge chip.
[TritonFound]
SYSCHK found an Intel Triton PCI bridge chip.
[SIS496Found]
SYSCHK found SIS 496 PCI bridge chip.
[OPTI822Found]
SYSCHK found an Opti 822 PCI bridge chip.
[OPTI558Found]
SYSCHK found an Opti 558 PCI bridge chip.
[OverWriteVgaDrv]
The default Windows 95 VGA.DRV driver could create system conflicts.
VGA.DRV must be updated with the one on the EDGE 3D CDROM prior to
placing the EDGE card in your computer. SYSCHK will copy a working
VGA.DRV into your Windows system directory.
[OverWriteVgaDrvOld]
The default Windows 95 VGA.DRV driver could create system conflicts.
Please restart the computer in MSDOS mode and copy VGA.DRV from the EDGE
3D CDROM into your Windows 95 system directory (e.g. /WINDOWS/SYSTEM)
before installing the EDGE 3D card.
[MultifunctionNotSupported]
This BIOS does not support the multifunction portion of the PCI
specification. Contact your PC or motherboard manufacturer for
a fully compliant system BIOS upgrade before installing your
Multimedia Accelerator.
[ASUS_SP4]
ASUS SP4 BIOS found.
The system BIOS does not support multifunction cards correctly;
therefore the EDGE 3D Multimedia card will not work in this system.
Please contact the manufacturer of your motherboard for a BIOS
upgrade.
[OnboardIDE]
This chipset has an onboard IDE controller, with a multiplexed
address bus, which will cause degradation in graphics and audio
performance. For improved performance use an ISA IDE controller
card and disable the onboard IDE controller.
[PCIToPCIFound]
A PCI-PCI bridge was found. For best performance, the EDGE 3D Multimedia
Accelerator card should be located on the primary PCI bus. See your hardware
documentation to determine which slots are on the primary PCI bus.
[DellP60Found]
SYSCHK found a Dell P60.
Your system BIOS may not support all interrupt configurations. We suggest
you reserve IRQ 9 for the EDGE 3D Multimedia Accelerator, and set other
peripherals to use other available interrupts.
[CheckingSystem]
SYSCHK will now check your system for full PCI compliance and
compatibility with the multimedia technology contained within
your EDGE 3D accelerator.
[NVINITCopyFail]
NVINIT.SYS copy from CDROM failed. SYSCHK will continue to setup
CONFIG.SYS.
