Changes from 2.30 to 2.40
===========================
Files modified:

Problems solved/New features:
-During playing AVI files, the video data was expanded to outside of the
video windows in TV-out mode. PDR#4866
-Mouse cursor can't move to the bottom of screen in 8x6 panels in LCD/Simul.
PDR#4677
-Garbage occured while running Winbench 95' video test. PDR#4408.
-Add linear addressing support.
-Panel backlight is turned off for just a second and then comes back on
after the lid is closed. This affected some notebooks. PDR#4360

TVFONT.REG (no long needed because the install script will modify the
registry)
Problem solved:
-Change 7548.INF script file to install an improved font type for TV during
the driver installation.
Changes from 2.30 b3 to 2.30 b4
=================================
OEM Notes: To see better TV font display, please run TVFONT.REG using
Win95 Explorer. This procedure will be integrated into Win95
driver installation in the production release.

Problem Solved:
-Ok and Cancel buttons can't be seen in TV mode while running Monitor Refresh
utility. Correct the problem by cutting off 22 scanlines at the top.
-Several Graphic WinMark tests fail with GPF in some notebooks.
-Black line appears in 800x600 DSTN panel when play MPEG file in 640x480
resolution. PDR#4253
-Display blocking via hot-key does not work properly. PDR#4275
-TV button is grayed out in all resolution except 640x480. PDR#4250
-Mouse cursor hot point is off after display switch. PDR#4123
-Improve font in TV.

Problem Solved:
-Description corruption appears when place cursor on top of toolbar
in MSWord for Win95. PDR#4124
-System locks up at ROP3 of DTA Misc Test and Background Palette Test.

-Individual components version numbers list have been consolidated in
README.1ST.
-In CRT only 1024x768 resolution, open DOS full screen and switch to VGA
or SVGA panel, exit DOS full screen and it returns you to CRT. PDR#3626

Problems Solved:
-Remove TV checking when enable LCD. This code causes LCD panel not to
come up when do hot-key display switch.
-Garbage shown on screen for a fraction of a second during Win95 boot up
process. PDR#3540.
-Updated Monitor Refresh utility to correct some incorrect foreign languages
translation.
-Put in version number for CIRL.VXD.

-Hot-key display switching causes panel to go blank or hang some notebook
system. PDR#3963
-One square inch of desktop image surrounding the mouse cursor when
Ctrl-Alt-Del from DOS full screen. PDR#3950
-In some notebook systems, use hot-key to switch display when a DOS screen
is opened would blacken bottom part of screen.
-Enable hardware mouse cursor as default instead of software.
-Default restart resolution drops down to 640x480 instead of 800x600 in a
SVGA panel after the it is powered off in CRT only mode with 1024x768
resolution. PDR#3941, 2460
-The Cirrus Logic driver description has been changed from 754X to 7543.
-In 1024x768 CRT only mode, hot-key switch to SVGA LCD and open DOS full
screen, hot-key switch back to CRT and exit DOS, CRT resolution becomes
800x600. PDR#3936,#3932
-Display automatically switches to CRT from SimulSCAN when continuously
scrolling in windowed DOS box. #PDR3975, #3964
-CRT display is distorted and panel display is gone while running Winbench 96.

-In 800x600 64k colors, user is able to set new monitor refresh but the
new refresh does not take effect.

Known Problems
==============
-Changing resolution while video playback is runnning may cause GPF. Make
sure you turn off any video playback before changing resolution. PDR#3725
-VFW test failed in Win95 HCT test in 64k colors modes.
Win95 Driver limitation
=======================
-To have 1024x768 256c 72Hz vert. refresh support, the video BIOS version
has to be v1.14 or later.
-In TV mode, open any application shows that bottom of the application is
shown partially.
-Switching from any non-TV display type to TV requires Win95 to restart.
This is by design.
-In TV mode, the Win95 logo screen got shifted down.
How to Install 754X Win95 Driver
================================
1. Click on the Start box in the lower left corner and proceed to Settings,
Control Panel.
2. Inside the Control Panel group, click on the Display icon to open the
Display Properties folder and select the Settings tab (right most tab).
3. Choose the "Change Display Type..." button and click the "Change..."
button in the Adapter Type group.
4. Select the "Have Disk..." button and then insert the 754X WIN95 Driver
Installation diskette into the floppy drive A: or B: and proceed with
OK button.
5. "Cirrus Logic 754X (Cirrus)" will be highlighted for a VLB system or
select "Cirrus Logic 754X PCI (Cirrus)" for PCI system.
6. Press OK and files are being copied from the diskette to your computer.
7. If a "Version Conflict" dialog box pops up and asks "Do you want to keep
this file?", answer "No".
8. Press Close again to exit Display Properties folder.
9. Select Yes to restart computer before the new driver will take effect.
How to change colordepth
========================
1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win 95' driver (see
How to Install 754X Win95 Driver section above).
2. Click on the Start box in the lower left corner and proceed to Settings,
Control Panel.
3. Inside the Control Panel group, click on the Display icon to open the
Display Properties folder and select the Settings tab.
4. Click on the pull-down arrow from the Color palette area to select color
depth.
5. Choose OK to restart Win95.
How to change resolution
========================
1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win 95' driver (see
How to Install 754X Win95 Driver section above).
2. Click on the Start box in the lower left corner and proceed to Settings,
Control Panel.
3. Inside the Control Panel group, click on the Display icon to open the
Display Properties folder and select the Settings tab.
4. Ajust the sliding bar either to Less or More from the Desktop area.
5. Choose OK and new resolution will take effect.
How to change monitor refresh rate and display type
===================================================
1. Make sure you have installed the Cirrus Logic 754X Win 95' driver (see
How to Install 754X Win95 Driver section above).
2. Click on the Start box in the lower left corner and proceed to Settings,
Control Panel.
3. Inside the Control Panel group, click on the Display icon to open the
Display Properties folder and select the Refresh tab.
4. You can change to different refresh rates for different resolution and/or
switching to different display type in the Active display area.
