  34. How to Install OS/2 Desktop Driver & WIN-OS/2 Full-Screen Session
  35. -----------------------------------------------------------------

  37. 1.  Make sure the GD754X OS/2 Driver disk is labeled "CL DISP" by using
  38.     DOS Label command (C:\DOS\LABEL A: or B:).
  39. 2.  Install OS/2 v3.0 WARP! (if not already installed) and select "VGA" as
  40.     the primary display adapter during installation. Do not select
  41.     "Cirrus Logic" because it currently only supports Cirrus Logic
  42.     desktop products.
  43. 3.  Insert the Cirrus Logic GD754X OS/2 v3.0 Driver disk into the floppy
  44.     drive.
  45. 4.  Open an OS/2 Full-Screen session.
  46. 5.  Change the prompt to the floppy drive which contains the driver disk.
  47. 6.  Invoke the OS/2 batch file CLINST30.CMD using OS/2 boot drive, without
  48.     a colon, as the parameter ([A:\]CLINST30 C).
  49. 7.  Select the primary display type with the "Cirrus Logic GD754X" title.
  50. 8.  Follow the applicable directions to ensure a complete installation.

  52. How to Change Screen Refresh Rates in OS/2 Desktop
  53. --------------------------------------------------
  54.  
  55. 1.  During the driver installation process the Monitor Configuration/
  56.     Selection Utility dialog box will appear and display the following
  57.     choices:
  58.     (1) Default Monitor Type - this choice will use the monitor default
  59.     settings.
  60.     (2) Display Adapter Utility Program - with the aid of an application
  61.     program such as CLMODE.EXE, this choice allows the user to set various
  62.     screen refresh rates on all resolutions supported by their monitor.
  63.     A dialog box will appear asking for the location and name of
  64.     the utility program.
  65.  
  66.         For example:
  67.         c:\vgautils\clmode.exe t640=75 t800=70 t1024=72 t1280=87
  68.  
  69.         CLMODE.EXE comes with the DOS Drivers Disk
  70.     The new settings will be saved to the BIOS and OS/2 will invoke
  71.     SVGA.EXE to create a new SVGADATA.PMI file.  The .PMI file will contain
  72.     the screen refresh rates chosen from the utility program.

  75. How to Change Resolution & Colors in OS/2 Desktop
  76. -------------------------------------------------
  77. 1.  After driver installation is complete, open the System Setup folder.
  78. 2.  Locate the System icon, mark it then hit the return key or double-click
  79.     the icon to execute the program.
  80. 3.  The first screen has 2 pages.  The first page displays all the available
  81.     resolutions, number of colors and screen refresh rate.
  82. 4.  The second page has two sections: Display Name, which displays various
  83.     monitor types, and View Current Configuration, which displays the
  84.     maximum resolutions and screen refresh rates for the type of monitor
  85.     selected.
  86. 5.  After the selections are made, close the System applet and execute a
  87.     Shutdown to allow the changes to take effect.
  88.  
  89. NOTE:   Choosing different screen refresh rates in the System applet will
  90.         have NO effect to the current configuration.

  92. How to Change Resolution & Colors in WIN-OS/2 Full-Screen Session
  93. -----------------------------------------------------------------
  94. 1.  The WIN-OS/2 full-screen or windowed session will be configured with the
  95.     same resolution and number of colors chosen for the OS/2 PM desktop.  For
  96.     example, if 800x600x65536 colors is chosen in an OS/2 desktop, opening a
  97.     WIN-OS/2 session will also display 800x600x65536 colors.

  99. NOTE:   Do NOT execute Winmode to change resolution and colordepth in a
  100.         WIN-OS/2 session.

  103. Problems Fixed

  106. -Mouse cursor is duplicated in Japanese OS/2 Warp.
  107.  
  108. -CLINST30.CMD causes an error message "SYS00202: The system cannot find 
  109.  the file specified." upon completion.

  111. -Mouse cursor can't move to certain location on screen when it is set at
  112.  640x480x256c resolution, using 8x6 panel and with expension on. PDR #2630
  113.  
  114. -Fixed set 640x480x16M mode, Hot key switch to CRT, the CRT shows distortion 
  115.  and noise in customer system. PDR#3397 
  116.  
  117. -CRT display is out-of-sync after hot-key switching to Simul and open a 
  118.  Win-OS/2 full screen in 256 color modes.  PDR#3398

  121. Known Problems
  122. --------------
  123.  
  124. -Fixed the 8x6 panel display shake up and down in os2 full screen and PM
  125.  environment switch. PDR #2416
  126.  
  127. -The title bar will disappear or will move to the bottom of the screen
  128.  when switching back from a PM desktop to an OS/2 full screen session.
  129.  Problem is evident only in SimulSCAN display using a resolution of
  130.  640x480 at 64K colors with an 800x600 SVGA TFT panel. PDR#2408

  132. -Screen is corrupted after PC benchmark test v1.0 incompleted and exit to
  133.  OS/2 Full screen. PDR #2399
