  89. This ZIP file contains ATI's 2.23 release of a software MPEG driver 
  90. designed for the mach64-based graphics accelerator products for use 
  91. under Windows. This version of the ATI Player requires Microsoft's 
  92. Video For Windows 1.1e to be installed.  If the ATI Video Player's 
  93. install does not detect Video for Windows, installation will be 
  94. terminated with a warning.  You must then located a copy of Video for 
  95. Windows, install it and then re-run the ATI install.

  97. Prior to installing the ATI Player, Windows MUST BE CONFIGURED 
  98. for the mach64 2.22 display drivers.

  102. 2.0    System Requirements
  103.  
  104. While this application will run on most systems, ATI recommends a 
  105. minimum of a P5-75 with 8MB of RAM and PCI-bus for good quality 
  106. playback of MPEG videos.
  107.  
  108. This product requires a mach64 PCI or VLB graphics accelerator. ISA 
  109. cards and VLB cards with the aperture disabled are not recommended for 
  110. MPEG playback.
  111.  
  112. Windows must be configured with the 2.22 mach64 display driver before 
  113. installing the software MPEG Player.
  114.  
  115. NOTE: If you have download the ATI mach64 2.22 display drivers, DO NOT 
  116. UNZIP THE FILE to the directory containing the ATI Player.  A new 
  117. temporary directory must be created e.g., C:\ATIWIN31.

  121. 2.0    Installation Notes
  122.  
  123. 1. Ensure that you have a copy of PKUNZIP.EXE 2.04G.  PKUNZIP is 
  124. available on most BBS and information services, including the ATI BBS 
  125. and CompuServe.
  126.  
  127. 2. Start Windows. 
  128.  
  129. 4. Start a MS DOS prompt.
  130.  
  131. 5. Unzip 64M31223.ZIP into a temporary directory on your hard disk.  
  132. For example:
  133.  
  134. MD \ATIMPEG
  135. PKUNZIP 64M31223.ZIP \ATIMPEG
  136.  
  137. 6. Exit the MS DOS prompt, and return to the Windows desktop.
  138.  
  139. 7. Select File from the Program Manager and then Run. 
  140.  
  141. 8. Type C:\ATIMPEG\SETUP.EXE in the text entry area. Press OK.
  142.  
  143. 9. Follow the screen instructions to completion. Where the 
  144. instructions refer to A:\, substitute the directory containing the 
  145. downloaded drivers e.g. C:\ATIMPEG.  
  146.  
  147. 10. Windows MUST BE RESTARTED FOR THE MPEG PLAYER TO WORK.

  149. 11. Once the driver has been installed, you can delete the contents of 
  150. the temporary directory (DEL \ATIMPEG\*.*) and delete the directory 
  151. itself (RD \ATIMPEG).

  153. 12. We recommend that you keep a copy of the ZIP file, 64M31223.ZIP, 
  154. in case you need to install the player again.
