  1. 1. Updating your system BIOS by PFLASH.EXE
  2.

  8. *    1. Flash EPROM provides you a convenient way to update your      *
  9. *       system BIOS, please note that updating your system BIOS       *
  10. *       is serious, only update when you need to do it. Un-necessary  *
  11. *       updating cause malfunction of the system are not cover        *
  12. *       within the warranty.                                          *
  13. *                                                                     *
  14. *    2. If you write something wrong to your FLASH EPROM, system      *
  15. *       may not boot anymore, please refer to the manual carefully    *
  16. *       to make sure you follow the correct step in updating, or      *
  17. *       ask qualify technician and/or call your dealer for help.      *

  22.   (1) Make sure the FLASH Read/Write jumper of M/B is correct. If the
  23.       setting is incorrect, the Flash EPROM won't be programed. Please
  24.       refer to the manual to set it respectfully.
  25.  
  26.   (2) Boot your system from MS-DOS system diskette which contains no
  27.       CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files.
  28.  
  29.       Note: FLASH.EXE can't work under protected mode/virtual mode.
  30.             Memory manager like QEMM386, EMM386, 386MAX should not be
  31.             loaded.
  32.  
  33.   (3) Type "PFLASH", then press "ENTER".
  34.  
  35.   (4) To support "Plug&Play" BIOS Programming, you require "Block Mode"
  36.       type FLASH EPROM. The PFLASH.EXE can support SST 5 Volt FLASH
  37.       EPROM(PH29EE010) and Intel 12Volt Boot Block FLASH EPROM (P28F001
  38.       BX-T) only. Do not continue to program FLASH EPROM if the FLASH
  39.       type is "UNKNOWN".

  41.   (5) If the system boots up from Non-Plug&Play BIOS, please choose
  42.       command option 3.(Advanced Feature) and then choose command
  43.       option 2.(Update BIOS Including Boot Block and ESCD) to load new
  44.       BIOS into FLASH EPROM.
  45.  
  46.       If the system boots up from Plug&Play BIOS, please choose command 
  47.       option 3.(Advanced Feature) and then choose command option 2.
  48.       (Update BIOS Including Boot Block and ESCD) to load new BIOS into 
  49.       FLASH EPROM.

  51.       Otherwise choose command option 2.(Update BIOS Main Block From
  52.       File) to load new BIOS and into FLASH EPROM.
  53.  
  54.       There is one BIOS file in this diskette. Please key-in the
  55.       correct BIOS file to program Flash EPROM.

  59.       P.S. XXXX=BIOS Version Number
  60.  
  61.   (6) If you get any error during flashing EPROM, please go back to
  62.       step 5 until successfully flashing it. Otherwise, your system might
  63.       not boot anymore.

  65.   (7) Press "ESC" key to exit.
  66.  
  67.   (8) Turn OFF power and restart system again.
