  23. The Graphics device drivers supplied here are for the Microsoft Retail
  24. Release of the Windows NT 3.5 operating system.
  25.  
  26. The drivers will substitute 640x480 by 256 colors if the mode selected is
  27. NOT supported by the mach64 graphics hardware.

  60. This driver package containing:
  61.  
  62.   - ATI.SYS        (ATI Graphics miniport driver)
  63.   - ATI.DLL        (ATI Graphics display  driver)
  64.   - OEMSETUP.INF   (setup files used by Windows NT Setup program)
  65.   - TXTSETUP.OEM
  66.   - SSDPMS.SCR     (DPMS Screen Saver)
  67.   - SSDPMS.HLP

  71. Windows NT drivers are included on Disk #3 of this package.  They are
  72. located in the \NT35 sub-directory.
  73.  
  74. Procedure:
  75.  
  76. 1. Run the Windows NT Display program located in the Control Panel, Main
  77.    group.
  78.  
  79. 2. Select Change Display Type.
  80.  
  81. 3. Select Change... from the display options.
  82.  
  83. 4. Select Other...
  84.  
  85. 5. NT will prompt you for the correct path, enter A:\NT35 where A: is
  86.    the drive containing the mach64 Disk #3.
  87.  
  88. 6. A list of all Graphics Accelerator drivers will appears, select
  89.    ATI Compatible Driver.
  90.  
  91. 7. Restart Windows NT.  Windows NT will start up using the mach64 drivers.
  92.  
  93. 8. NT Will boot into 640x480 mode and start the Display applet allowing
  94.    for mode selection.
  95.  
  96. Note: If you select a color depth or resolution, not supported by your
  97.       card, NT will substitute 640x480, 256 color for the display.

  100. 2.1     Uninstalling the Windows NT drivers
  101.  
  102. How to uninstall the mach64 Windows Device Driver.  There are TWO ways to
  103. do this without re-installing Windows NT.
  104.  
  105. ONE method is:
  106.     CD \winnt\system32\drivers
  107.     ren ATI.sys  ATI.ati
  108.     Windows NT looks for ATI.SYS drivers at boot time, if it cannot find
  109.     it, it cannot use it.

  111. SECOND method is:
  112.     While running Windows NT, execute the Win NT Setup program.
  113.     Select a NON mach64 driver  (try VGA compatible)

  117. 3.0     Known Problems
  118.  
  119. Some applications do not handle 24bpp and 32bpp properly resulting in the
  120. colors not looking right.
  121.  
  122. What to do if  ACCELERATOR not found message appears:
  123.  
  124. Is there another adapter card in the system that CONFLICTS with I/O
  125. locations in the 350-35F hex range?  Relocate the I/O to 300 to 31F range.

  127. Attempting to run the mach64 Install program under NT will report
  128. "Mach64 Adapter not detected.".  The install program must be run from DOS.

  132. 4.0     Reporting Problems
  133.  
  134. If you experience any difficulties, open the file REPORT.TXT and complete
  135. the Problem Report form.
