El Magnifyco is a screen magnifier utility. It captures the desktop and shows you the zoomed version of the screen snapshot.
You can operate El Magnifyco using its system menu. There are two zoom levels you can use: 2x Zoom and 3x Zoom. The higher the zoom level, the more time it takes to process and zoom the screen snapshot. After selecting the zoom level, choose Capture Screen from the system menu. You will see a "Working..." message on the taskbar for a few seconds. After the destop is captured, the application main window will appear, showing you the zoomed contens of the screen. You can navigate in this window either by using scroll bars or holding down the left mouse button a moving the mouse pointer. You can also use the magnifier glass for brief navigation.
NOTE: If you choose Capture Image while the El Magnifyco main window is still visible, the program will try to hide it in order to make available the part of the desktop which was overlapped by this window. However, it is possible that the system will capture the screen before the El Magnifyco main window is erased. As a result, parts of the unerased El Magnifyco main window may appear on the zoomed desktop snapshot. Therefore, it is recommended to close the application window manually before commiting the screen snapshot.
