  6. NOTE: This program needs the file vbrun300.dll. (Usually it 
  7. should be in your Windows System Directory or in your path.) It 
  8. does not come with this program because most people will 
  9. already have it and it takes too long to download. If you don't 
  10. have it, you will need to download it to use this program and 
  11. the many other Visual Basic Programs that are written from 
  12. Visual Basic 3.

  14. This program is designed to help a user monitor many system 
  15. resources at all times and to combine some utilities that you 
  16. may already use.

  18. Installation:
  19.  
  20. Put vbsys.dll, cmdialog.vbx, and threed.vbx in your 
  21. windows/system directory, (Use the newest versions), and put 
  22. vbsys.exe and/or vbsysbar anywhere you want. Put vbsys.hlp in 
  23. the same directory as vbsys.exe and/or vbsysbar.exe. (If you 
  24. don't need the help file later, you can just delete it to save 
  25. disk space.) When you run the program, you should not select 
  26. minimized or maximized, it should be run "NORMAL". For more 
  27. information, double click on the vbsys.hlp file from file 
  28. manager or run VBSys.exe or vbsysbar.exe, click anywhere on the 
  29. running VBSys Program, and press F1 to run the help file. The 
  30. help file is case sensitive to the screen you are working on. 
  31. PC Tools users should search help file for "PC Tools" for more 
  32. info.

  174. Known Problems:
  175.  
  176.     A Pentium will appear as a 486 or Faster. The method 
  177. that Microsoft suggests to identify CPU types does not include 
  178. the Pentium. When one appears I will fix it.
  179.  
  180.         If you are using Windows for Workgroups 3.11, It will 
  181. still show up as version 3.10. This is due to an internal 
  182. setting IN Windows for Workgroups. It will probably be 
  183. corrected in the future by Microsoft in either Windows or 
  184. Visual Basic.

  186. Network support is limited on purpose so not to affect system 
  187. performance or make the program bigger for everyone. It should 
  188. work on a Network that is Microsoft Network Compatible and is 
  189. running Windows. If for some reason it doesn't work on Your 
  190. Network then just don't monitor the Network drives and use 
  191. VBSys to monitor your Local system completely as it was 
  192. designed.

  194. Future releases: There is really nothing PLANNED at this time, 
  195. I may add more things later if I feel it will improve it, but 
  196. it's getting hard to keep the size of the display down as I add 
  197. things which defeats the purpose of this utility which is to 
  198. Monitor things and stay out of the way. Also, because there are 
  199. no menus it's hard to keep it simple to use the features.

  201. I hope you find this program as useful as I do. It is released 
  202. as SHAREWARE. It does NOT have any "nag" screens. You can use 
  203. it for thirty days as long as you agree that I am not 
  204. responsible for anything directly or indirectly related to 
  205. using this program. After that time, either delete the program 
  206. or send the nominal fee of just $10.00 to help cover costs, 
  207. make you feel better, and to help keep the shareware concept 
  208. going, (It takes a lot of time to write these programs and do 
  209. the research. I know most people don't like to pay for 
  210. shareware, that's why it's only $10.00 for Both versions, VBSys 
  211. and VBSysBar. If you use it every day it IS certainly worth 
  212. $10.00. Other options for registration are listed in the help 
  213. file.) After payment, I will send you the current version which 
  214. will include the ability to save all settings in an .ini file 
  215. so it will always come up the way you want,(different .ini for 
  216. VBSys and VBSysBar) such as which drives, where display is on 
  217. screen, Fonts, and colors, Memory display setting, On Top Setting, 
  218. etc....
