  19. 1. Uninstalling previous versions
  20.  
  21. WARNING: First uninstall any previous version of a Musical
  22. Generator. To uninstall do the following:
  23.  
  24. a. Run the control panel: Settings|Control Panel
  25. b. Click at Add/Remove programs
  26. c. Click at a Musical Generator and click Add/Remove
  27. d. Click Yes if you are asked to be sure
  28. e. The program will be uninstalled
  29.  
  30. 2. Installing A Musical Generator
  31.  
  32. In order to use A Musical Generator, you must first unzip the
  33. File AMUGEN20.ZIP and next run the Setup program (SETUP.EXE) so 
  34. that it will work properly on your computer.  The files required 
  35. to run  the program are compressed to reduce download time and storage space.  
  36. Execution of  the setup program will decompress and write these 
  37. files on your computer's hard drive.
  38.  
  39. a. If installing from a ZIP file, use an unzipping program to 
  40.    extract all files in the ZIP file  to an empty, temporary 
  41.    directory such as C:\TEMP; if installing from diskette, insert 
  42.    the A Musical Generator disk 1 into the appropriate floppy 
  43.    drive. 
  44. b. Click on the Start button on the Taskbar. Windows will open 
  45.    the Start menu. 
  46. c. Click on the Start menu's "Run" selection.  Windows will open 
  47.    the "Run" dialog box. 
  48. d. If installing from a ZIP file, type the drive and directory to 
  49.    which you extracted the files  in step #2, followed by 
  50.    "\SETUP.EXE"; if installing from a floppy drive, type the drive  
  51.    letter of the floppy drive containing the A Musical Generator 
  52.    files followed by  ":\SETUP.EXE". 
  53. f. Click on the "OK" button to run the A Musical Generator 
  54.    setup program. 
  55. g. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
  56.  
  57. In order to minimize the size of the shareware version of The 
  58. Musical Generator, no printable  user's manual has been provided. 
  59. However, the on-line help system included with this shareware 
  60. version of A Musical Generator provides extensive information 
  61. on using the program.  You can access the on-line help system 
  62. whenever the program is open by selecting "Help|Topics..." from 
  63. the Help menu.

  66.  
  67. This program is shareware and costs $25 to register. 
  68. Just run the program and the registration window automatically 
  69. pops up. Choose Register, fill in the details and send the input 
  70. form. You will receive a key that you can enter the next time you
  71. start up a Musical Generator. 
  72. This program may be freely distributed.

  74. 4. Fees for Distribution of Shareware Versions
  75.  
  76. Disk Vendors, Shareware Distributors, Magazines and BBS(s) may have 
  77. charged a nominal fee for the  distribution of this Shareware version 
  78. of A Musical Generator. This fee does not constitute  payment for 
  79. the Licensed version of A Musical Generator, and does not 
  80. entitle the end user to use the shareware version for longer than 
  81. the 30 day evaluation period.
