1. Program description
WinWaste is an easy-to-use trash can for files and directories. You can drag&drop
files from your File Manager into the trash can to discard them. Later, you
can either restore or delete these files. WinWaste was developed for Windows 3.1
or later and is not intended to replace the recycle bin of Windows 95.
Feel free to send any comments or suggestions to the address given below.

2. Version information
This is WinWaste version 1.0 for Windows 3.1 or later, released in February 1996.
The program has been thoroughly tested, but may still contain some bugs. Please
report any bugs to the address given below for further improvements.
This shareware version is fully functional, except that the capacity of the
trash can has been limited to 15 discarded files per directory. Please register
(see below) to obtain your WinWaste copy with an unlimited capacity.

3. Packing list
The WinWaste application package consists of the following files:
- INSTALL.EXE: The installation program
- INSTALL.INI: The data file for the installation program
- WINWASTE.BMP: A bitmap file for the installation program
- WINWASTE.DAT: The WinWaste database
- WINWASTE.EXE: The WinWaste executable file
- WINWASTE.HLP: The WinWaste help file
- README.TXT: This file
Please check the contents of your package before installing.
________________
4. Install guide
Please scan the files of the package for viruses before you start to
install WinWaste.
WinWaste can be installed over an existing, older version. Before
overwriting an existing version, make sure the trash can is empty
(see WinWaste online help).
WinWaste can be installed from a floppy disk or a harddisk.
Start the INSTALL program (INSTALL.EXE) and follow the instructions.
INSTALL will create a subdirectory for the files, if necessary, and will
create a Program Manager group named "WinWaste". After installation is complete,
you may move the program icon to a different group (e.g. the Startup
group to automatically launch WinWaste upon Windows start) and delete the
WinWaste group.

5. Uninstall guide
Before attempting to uninstall WinWaste, make sure that the trash can is
empty (see WinWaste online help).
To uninstall WinWaste manually, perform the following steps:
(1) Delete the WinWaste icon in your Program Manager group.
(2) If the icon still resided in the WinWaste group, you can also delete
this Program Manager group.
(3) Delete the WinWaste program directory together with all WinWaste files
(WINWASTE.EXE, WINWASTE.HLP, WINWASTE.DAT, and README.TXT).
(4) Delete the WINWASTE.INI file in your Windows directory (usually C:\WINDOWS).
This is all it takes to uninstall WinWaste, as WinWaste does not change any of your
system files like AUTOEXEC.BAT or WIN.INI and does not install any .DLL files.
