  1. The Artistic License
  2.  
  3.    Preamble
  4.  
  5.    The  intent  of this document is to state the conditions under which a
  6.    Package  may  be copied, such that the Copyright Holder maintains some
  7.    semblance  of  artistic  control  over the development of the package,
  8.    while  giving the users of the package the right to use and distribute
  9.    the  Package  in  a  more-or-less customary fashion, plus the right to
  10.    make reasonable modifications.

  12.    Definitions:
  13.      * "Package"  refers  to  the  collection of files distributed by the
  14.        Copyright  Holder,  and  derivatives  of  that collection of files
  15.        created through textual modification.
  16.      * "Standard  Version"  refers  to  such a Package if it has not been
  17.        modified,  or  has  been modified in accordance with the wishes of
  18.        the Copyright Holder.
  19.      * "Copyright  Holder"  is  whoever  is  named  in  the  copyright or
  20.        copyrights for the package.
  21.      * "You"  is  you,  if  you're thinking about copying or distributing
  22.        this Package.
  23.      * "Reasonable  copying fee" is whatever you can justify on the basis
  24.        of  media  cost, duplication charges, time of people involved, and
  25.        so  on.  (You  will not be required to justify it to the Copyright
  26.        Holder,  but  only to the computing community at large as a market
  27.        that must bear the fee.)
  28.      * "Freely  Available"  means  that  no  fee  is charged for the item
  29.        itself, though there may be fees involved in handling the item. It
  30.        also  means  that recipients of the item may redistribute it under
