  33. No installation is necessary to run this demo version. 
  34. Simply execute the self-extract SPBDEMO.EXE.
  35. Double-clic on SPB.EXE from the root folder you created, and select a 3D card option (3Dfx or Direct3D).

  39. 1)Menu
  40.  
  41. For the demo, you can only use the mouse in the menu (left button to validate the selection)
  42.  
  43. In the Championship mode, before doing your race, you have to buy your car (select the "buy item" button).  
  44. The same thing applies to skins. You cannot select a skin if you didn't buy a car first. 
  45. When a button is validated, its color darkens.
  46. To scroll trough items, use the yellow arrow at the left and right of the buy item button.

  48. This demo gives you access to one track in the Championship mode.
  49. The race will last for 2 minutes 30 seconds.

  54. F2 : Change camera views
  55. F3 : Replay camera views
  56. F4 : To hide the screen display
  57. F5 : To activate/deactivate the mirror
  58. F11: Take ScreenShot (*.TGA)
  59. ESC: Pauses the game and activates the in-game options menu.

  61. The default controls for driving the car will be:
  62.  
  63. Up arrow   : Accelerate 
  64. Down arrow : Brake
  65. Left arrow : Turn left
  66. right arrow: Turn right
  67. R          : Reverse (to get back to first gear, press "A" two times)
  68. S          : To activate the handbrake 
  69. Space Bar  : Activates the nitro boost

  71. To change the controllers config, go in the "Options" menu.

  74. 3)Driving tips
  75.  
  76. For optimal driving: 
  77.  
  78. -Use the Nitro strategically. Avoid being at the near end of a race without nitro, 
  79. or it could cost you an almost assured victory. 
  80.  
  81. -Combine use of Nitro and handbrake. When entering a curve preceding a straight line, steer a little, 
  82. synchronize with the handbrake, then accelerate in the stretch while using nitro. 
  83. This technique is extremely useful to pass by tricky radars.
  84.  
  85. -It is also possible to get good skids on large and medium turns by pressing the nitro 
  86. before entering the curve, then releasing it when entering the turn.

  92. This demo will work best with the latest graphic cards drivers, especially if in Direct3D.
