  4. Stars3D v2.1 is a new Win32 screen saver for
  5. Windows 95/98/NT. 
  6.  
  7. New features in v2.1:
  8.     Bug fix for lock-up problems

  11.     All new 3D animated backgrounds
  12.     MP3 and CD track support
  13.     Random background selection
  14.     Many speed optimizations

  16. User's Manual:
  17.     Playing MP3s:
  18.     1) press [Mp3s] button from the Control Panel
  19.     2) use the file selection box to [Add] mp3s
  20.         to your playlist
  21.     3) or press [Load List] to load the current
  22.         Stars3D playlist.
  23.     4) or press the [CD track] button to add
  24.         a CD track to your playlist
  25.     5) when your done adding, press [Save List]
  26.         This saves, and sets the playlist as
  27.         your Stars3D playlist.
  28.     6) when done saving press [OK] to leave the 
  29.         editor
  30.     7) make sure to check the box "Play Mp3s"
  31.     8) your playlist will play automatically
  32.         the next time your screen saver is on.

  34.     Note: Decoding mp3s while rendering intensive
  35.     graphics may cause the song to skip, or the 
  36.     display to jerk for a moment.  This is normal
  37.     and unfortunetly unavoidable.

  39.     All other features are pretty self-explanatory.

  43. Requirements:
  44.     Stars3D requires at least a Voodoo1 graphics
  45.     card.  Though, best performance is available
  46.     with a Voodoo2 card. Voodoo banshee and Voodoo
  47.     Rush are not guaranteed to work, nor are they
  48.     supported. For best performance, a good CPU is
  49.     a must, especially with a Voodoo1 card. The best
  50.     way to find out what kind of performance you'll
  51.     get is to just try out this shareware version.

  53.     Some of the graphics processing is very intensive.
  54.     If you experience any slow-down with a Voodoo 1
  55.     card, simply change some of the options.
  56.     Voodoo 2 cards should have no problem handling
  57.     the full set of graphic enhancements.

  59.     Stars3D has complete password protection.  Set
  60.     and enter the password as you would for any
  61.     other Windows screen saver.

  63. Registration:
  64.     Stars3D is distributed as shareware, so if you
  65.     wish to use it as your windows screen saver, you
  66.     must send in the registration fee.  The cost is
  67.     $14 US per computer the software is installed on.
