- <p> If the din of rap music has you feeling edgy, there's a
- cure: Marc Cohn, a sensitive singer/songwriter whose self-titled
- debut album and hit single Walking in Memphis are unabashedly,
- well, sensitive. Also wildly successful: Cohn, 32, is suddenly
- being touted as a spokesman for his generation, a troubadour for
- troubled times. His music, though, isn't about demographics. "I
- listen to my heart," says the throaty-voiced nice guy, who has
- just kicked off his first U.S. tour but remembers playing
- backup at Caroline Kennedy's wedding before making it big. So
- what about the S word? Says Cohn: "My sensitive side comes
- across more in my songs than in my life."
