- <p> DIED. Henry Crown, 94, office boy turned tycoon, whose $2
- billion family fortune is one of the largest in the U.S.; in
- Chicago. Born to Lithuanian immigrant parents, Crown quit
- school after the eighth grade for financial reasons. His
- diverse holdings eventually included railroads, construction,
- hotels, the aerospace industry, meat packing and a share in the
- Chicago Bulls. He could dish it out as well as make it. During
- his lifetime, Crown gave $100 million to the arts, medicine and
- education.
