- <p> She just said nei to Norway. Olympic gold medal figure
- skater KRISTI YAMAGUCHI is bowing out of the Lillehammer games
- and gliding gracefully away from the superstress she would have
- been subjected to as the sport's most promising Stateside
- Olympic contender. "At Albertville there were no expectations
- placed on me," says Kristi. "Coming away with the gold was icing
- on the cake. How much better could you get?" Not much. But
- unfortunately, a Kristi-free women's team will put the U.S. on
- thin ice in 1994. Now the heat is on Nancy Kerrigan, who ranked
- a disappointing fifth at this year's world championships.
