- <p> The message blaring out of six Houston radio stations was
- loud and clear. "Look at all those people," says a voice. "Where
- do they come from?" A companion replies, "It will get worse...They want to let in millions more immigrants."
- </p>
- <p> The slick radio campaign kicked off last week by the
- Washington-based Federation for American Immigration Reform says
- traffic, homelessness, drug smuggling and other social problems
- will only escalate if present rates of immigration continue.
- FAIR is seeking a tighter lid on illegal immigrants and a
- 300,000-a-year cap on legal new arrivals.
- </p>
- <p> Outraged by FAIR's campaign, some community officials have
- called for a boycott of the radio stations. In the face of such
- protest, the stations withdrew the ads. Unfazed, FAIR is looking
- for other outlets.
