  17. <p>     Manuel Noriega spent the holiday season in a Miami prison
  18. awaiting trial for drug trafficking, but he didn't forget old
  19. friends and supporters back in Panama. The ousted dictator
  20. mailed out a Christmas card bearing a cryptic poem: "God is who
  21. makes the time/ the sole owner of eternity. Because He/ knows
  22. it all/ and knows/ how and/ when...! This is my thought/ of
  23. meditation/ and from the depth/ I give you today in/
  24. Christmas." Could the former strongman be contemplating an
  25. insanity defense?
