<p> DIED. Max Robinson, 49, blunt TV correspondent who was the
first full-time black anchor of a network news show; of AIDS; in
Washington. In 1978 he joined Frank Reynolds and Peter Jennings
on ABC's World News Tonight, but was relegated to weekend shows
after Reynolds died in 1983. He fought to put more blacks in TV
jobs and once accused the media of being "a crooked mirror"
through which "white America views itself."
