This file contains release notes for the JAMMER for Windows.
PRODUCT REGISTRATION:
Please send in your product registration card. Sending in your product
registration card will allow you to receive information on future
versions of the JAMMER as well as information on special products and
offers etc...
GETTING STARTED:
The easiest way to get up and running with the JAMMER is to follow the
tutorial in the manual. It covers most aspects involved in creating
songs in the JAMMER.
SOUND BLASTER (and compatible) OWNERS:
Most MIDI sound modules and keyboards are set up by default for drums on
MIDI channel 10. However, the Sound Blaster's drum sounds are available
on MIDI channel 16. So, in the Tracks Window, change the MIDI channel
of all drum tracks to MIDI channel 16. If you turn the "Group Drums"
option on (from the Util Menu), setting the MIDI channel on one drum
track will set the MIDI channel for all drum tracks. After making this
adjustment, choose "Save Mix" from the Styles Menu. Save this mix using
the name of your choice (SBFM.MIX for example). Then, enter this file
as your default mix file in "System Options" (Devices Menu). Also note
that if you load a song whose MIDI channel for drums is not on MIDI
channel 16, you will have to change the MIDI channel for its drum tracks
to MIDI channel 16.
SYSTEM PERFORMANCE AND TRACK LEDS:
Track LEDs can take lots of processor time. If your machine responds
slowly during playback, disabling this feature may be all that is
necessary.
Please note that by default, the LEDs in the Tracks Window are enabled.
If you have a slower machine (like a 386sx 16Mhz), you may want to
disable the track LEDs. This can be done by choosing the "Display Track
LEDs" option in the Animation section of the Util Menu. A check mark by
this menu item means that the feature is enabled. No check mark means
that it is disabled. This setting is saved for future JAMMER sessions.
Alternatively, you may want to try running Windows in
Standard Mode (Type "win /s" from the DOS prompt).
