  17.   Transfers an already existing DiskID-file to an Audio-CD (CDDA):
  18.   relabels the disk and renames the tracks using the information
  19.   found in the DiskID-file.

  23.   AsimCDFS 3.5, SCSI-CD-Rom with support for Audio-CDs, AmigaOS 2.x.
  24.   and DiskID-files (which can be created and modified by several
  25.   CDDA-Players, like MCDPlayer and OptyCDPlayer).

  27.   It also might work with older versions of AsimCDFS, but I didn't
  28.   test this.

  42.   as long as no modifications are made to the executable and this

  46.   included with any commercial product without the written permission
  47.   of the author.

  49. MOTIVATION
  50.  
  51.   AsimCDFS supports CDDAs is quite nifty way: You can access every
  52.   track immediatly as file. By default, they are named like 
  53.   "Track.1", "Track.2" and so on. These names can be changed (from 
  54.   Workbench or using AsimTunes), but this is a rather dull task.
  55.  
  56.   There already exists a large pool of DiskID-files (see Aminet),
  57.   but unfortunatly, no converter is included into AsimCDFS.

  59. INSTALLATION
  60.  
  61.   Drag the icon anywhere you want and modify the tooltypes according
  62.   to your needs.

  69. USAGE

  71.   DiskID2Asim can be invoked from CLI or Workbench. The arguments
  72.   for the tooltypes are the same as for CLI.
  73.  
  74.   DEVICE     scsi-device the CD-Rom is connected to;
  75.              default "scsi.device"
  76.   UNIT       scsi-unit the CD-Rom is mounted as;
  77.              default 5
  78.   DISKIDPATH directory, where the DiskID-files ("ID#?") are located
  79.   TRACKPATH  directory, where the "Track.#?"-files are located.
  80.              default "CD0:AIFF_Stereo"; usually, there should be no
  81.              need to change this.
  82.              NOTE: Renaming a file in one of the directories for 
  83.              different audio-formats also affects all corresponding 
  84.              files in all other directories.
  85.   NOTITLE    do not relabel disk with album-title
  86.   NOTRACKS   do not rename files with track-title
  87.   NOBLANKS   replace blanks in titles by underscores ("_")
  88.   RESET      reset title and/or tracks to defaults ("Title_Unknown"
  89.              and "Track.#?")
  90.   VERBOSE    enable verbose output

  92.   The required DiskID-file needs already to exist, and, of course, 
  93.   the CDDA you want to apply the DiskID-file on needs to be inserted
  94.   in your CD-Rom-drive.

  96.   DiskID2Asim does some manipulation on the original title when 
  97.   converting it to a filename:
  98.   - surrounding blanks are removed
  99.   - text inside brakets is removed
  100.   - some special characters ("#?|~..") are replaced by "-"
  101.   - "/" is replaced by "\"
  102.  
  103.   If the filename is still too long, it will be cut-down to the
  104.   filesystem-maximum (30 characters for the album-title, 25 
  105.   characters for track-titles) and the last two characters will be 
  106.   "..".

  108.   If several tracks exist with the same name or tracks don't result
  109.   in unique filenames after 25 characters, an unique filename will
  110.   be computed (extensions like ".1", ".2".. are appended).

  154.     For the title, "Mc Intyre, Treadmore And Davitt", the text is
  155.     reduced to fit 30 characters and ends with ".."
  156.     For track#1, "Outbreak Of Vitas Gerulaitis", the text is reduced
  157.     to fit 25 charaters and ends with "..". This still allows a
  158.     ".info" to be appended to the filename.
  159.     For track#5, "Yipps (My Baby Got The)", the text inside brakets
  160.     is removed and results in "Yipps".

  162. PROBLEMS
  163.  
  164.   - When updating the album-title (with NOTITLE not specified), 
  165.     CDDAs currently playing are interrupted. This is a bug of 
  166.     AsimCDFS.
  167.   - DiskID2Asim asumes that Examine() and ExNext() return the 
  168.     track-sequence in correct order. This is the case for version
  169.     3.5 of AsimCDFS, but if this changes in future, the filenames
  170.     won't fit the corresponding tracks anymore.
  171.   - If, for some reason, the filenames get totally trashed, you
  172.     can repair them using the editor of AsimTunes. I needed this
  173.     once during development, when two files got identical names.
  174.   - As a feature of AsimCDFS, the usage of DiskID2Asim also affects
  175.     the database used by AsimTunes, but the artist-field remains
  176.     untouched.
