  8. VideoArchiv v3.0BETA
  9. There  it is: the first  preview of  VideoArchiv v3.0. A  lot of new func-
  10. tions, enhanced graphical interface, and, and, and...
  11. Now we  need  some really  hardcore-Beta-Testers  who  like to  test every
  12. function of the program. Try everything: Try  to load a corrupt file, del-
  13. ete a required data and look how the program does react, ...
  14. In short: try to do every (ugly) thing and tell us about your results.

  16. What's missing in this BETA-Release (ToDo):
  17. - no printings
  18. - some preference settings will not take effect
  19. - locale - catalogs won't be supported now
  20. - no documentation included
  21. - certain <Are you sure?>-Requesters
  22. - GUI is going to be changed again slightly
  23. - ...

  25. Everything else should (SHOULD) work fine.  Now it's your turn to find the
  26. bugs that are still existing (if there are any :-)) or to make some propo-
  27. sals what could be done better or just to write me  any  comment about the
  28. program (even  if you only  want to tell me  that you dislike the  default
  29. colors..). Just write!
  30. You can use an included form for your bug-reports (<report.txt>).

  37. not German or English (into these two  languages i can translate the pro-

  63. About VideoArchiv
  64. -----------------
  65. The idea which made us programming  VideoArchiv was to eventually create a
  66. simple, but  altough powerful  video-database. It never  was  our goal  to
  67. develop a program  that «can do everything». VideoArchiv  wants  to be the
  68. clearest,the most comprehensible and the easiest to use video-database for
  69. the Amiga, which  with everyone  can work at once  and  for ever. Programs
  70. that  strikes you  dead with masks and  setups  and that  must  be arduous
  71. edited by  the User  himself are  already  available. Somebody  who simply
  72. wants to manage his collection of videos needs a program  which is specia-
  73. lized on videos - like VideoArchiv :-)
  74. That we have reached  this goal we can read  out of the numerous positives
  75. answers we received on our first releases of VideoArchiv. Altough we won't
  76. be lazy. We want VideoArchiv to get still more powerful in future, without
  77. ever breaking «the rules of easyness and clarity». And that's what we need
  78. your help for: Tell us about the program  the things you  like, the things
  79. you dislike, the elements you miss, the elements you think are unnecessary
  80. or whatever you want  to tell us.

  83. Features of the VideoArchiv v3.0
  84.  - Every film can be defined by the following criterions:
  85.     · Title
  86.     · Original Title
  87.     · Year
  88.     · Number (any code)
  89.     · Lenght
  90.     · SP/LP
  91.     · Genre
  92.     · Regie
  93.     · Actors
  94.     · Description (or whatever you want to write here.. much plain space.)
  95.     · Technical Info: PAL/PAL+/NTSC... Stereo/DSP/THX... VHS/Hi8/DVD...
  96.  - Search: you can search  in every criterion (for example the program can
  97.    list up every film which is directed by Steven Spielberg)
  98.  - Filmlist can be sorted by every criterion in both directions
  99.  - Supports user-defined names- and genre-lists, so you don't have to type
  100.    them in again and again (once defined - always available!)
  101.  - Possibility to lend a film (program saves the name and the date)
  102.  - Different print modes (also in combination with the search-function)
  103.  - Own, beautiful and  easy to  use GUI (Graphical User Interface). Have a
  104.    look at it and enjoy!

  106.  - German documentation
  107.  - Easy to install (Installer, no assigns required)
  108.  - Requires OS 2.01 (better if higher) and 1MB (or more) of memory
