  1. New features in CATraxx 2000:
  2.  
  3. * Many exciting new features, like filtering and grouping, in the 
  4.   Browse and Track View windows. For more information, please see
  5.   the help file ("Introduction/What's new").
  6. * You can now print the contents of the browse list (list of albums 
  7.   in the main window, or list of tracks in the Track View window) 
  8.   simply by clicking the Print button on the toolbar. 
  9. * Various data entry enhancements. The Choose Artist dialog box is 
  10.   now a thing of the past. You can now type the name of the artist 
  11.   directly into the Artist field, or simply select from the drop-down 
  12.   list, just like other lookup fields (for example Format or Company). 
  13.   The Award, Nomination and Subtitle fields also work like the Artist 
  14.   field - simply type directly into the field. 
  15. * In addition to printing or previewing reports, CATraxx can now send 
  16.   a report to a file. CATraxx supports the following file formats:  
  17.   Adobe Acrobat, Archive (a special file format that lets you store 
  18.   report output so that it can be previewed and printed later), Excel,
  19.   HTML, HTML/CSS2, JPEG, Lotus 1-2-3, Quattro Pro, Rich Text Format,
  20.   and Text file.
  21. * New data fields: Album.New Album, Album.Soundtrack, Album.Valid MS 
  22.   Disc ID, Album.Valid cddb Disc ID, Track.Rating, Track.Arranged by, 
  23.   Track.Mastered by and Track.Mastered at. 
  24. * New lookup table: Track Rating. 
  25. * You can modify the contents of the SPARS lookup table. 
  26. * You can now sort on the following fields: Album.Overdue, Album.Change 
  27.   in Value and Loan.Overdue.
  28. * CATraxx will now always notify you if the Reference number is in use 
  29.   (also when you have modified the reference number of an existing album).
  30. * Added the ability to copy information from one track to another when 
  31.   registering a new track (Track -> Copy Track Information).
  32. * New menu short cuts in the Track Edit window: 
  33.     Ctrl+K: Choose Track
  34.     Ctrl+I: Change Side
  35.     Ctrl+R: Rearrange.
  36. * Enhanced Statistics module.
  37. * Loan Transactions window: You can change the column order. Click on a 
  38.   heading to sort on that column. 
  39. * CATraxx now uses the HTTP protocol instead of e-mail when submitting 
  40.   disc data to CDDB (you do not have to specify e-mail server). This 
  41.   means that if you can download disc data from CDDB, you will also be 
  42.   able to submit disc data to CDDB. 
  43. * Download from CDDB window: Click on the heading of the column 
  44.   you want to sort on. 
  45. * CDDB: You can now transfer lyrics from the Comments field to the 
  46.   Lyrics field for all tracks on a CD in one operation if the 
  47.   lyrics were downloaded from CDDB (Tracks -> Comments->Lyrics).
  48. * CDDB: Added the ability to transfer the artist name from the 
  49.   Title/Comments field to the Artist field (useful for compilation 
  50.   CDs) in the Track Edit window if you forgot do this when you 
  51.   downloaded the CD.
  52. * You can now use Windows Media Player to play multimedia files 
  53.   (Tools -> Preferences -> Multimedia -> Use Windows Media Player 
  54.   to play multimedia files). Please note that when this option is 
  55.   activated you will not be able to pause or stop the playback from 
  56.   within CATraxx (you must do this from the Media Player window). 
  57.   When this option is not activated, CATraxx will still use the 
  58.   services of Media Player, but the playback (including pause and 
  59.   stop) is controlled from within CATraxx.
  60. * You can use Winamp (now freeware! - www.winamp.com) to play MP3 
  61.   files (Tools -> Preferences -> Multimedia -> Use Winamp to play 
  62.   MP3 files).
  63. * Added a "Shift With Band" property to all report objects.
  64. * Added the ability to launch the external CD Player from within 
  65.   CATraxx (Tools -> Preferences -> Multimedia -> Use external CD 
  66.   Player). Please note that if the "Open database for exclusive 
  67.   access" option is selected you will not be able to use the 
  68.   external player when CATraxx is running. 
  69. * CD Player: Added a separate window to display the lyrics 
  70.   (View -> Show Lyrics).
  71. * New setting in the external CD Player: Stop playing on Exit.
  72. * If you have more than one CD drive, you can now change the drive 
  73.   CATraxx will use from both the CD Player and the "Download from 
  74.   CDDB" window (Options -> Device).
