graphics card.
FORCE FEEDBACK
MIA has been developed in conjunction with Microsoft(TM)'s
Force Feedback joystick and will automatically detect if your
joystick is capable of Force Feedback.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING
1. Graphics Cards / Accelerator Issues
Due to issues beyond our control. Some graphics cards and certain drivers
will not work properly when running MIA from the start bar. If you have any
problems with your graphics card or notice any corruption in the game, then
please try the following.
Depending on what accelerator card you have, you will have to create a
specific shortcut to mia on your desktop, and then run the game from this.
a) create a shortcut on your desktop to miarel.exe, but dragging miarel.exe from
your mia directory onto your desktop.
b) right click on this shortcut and go to properties.
c) in the shortcut box add the following command line (Please note that if your
shortcut is delimited with quotes eg "c:\program files\mia\miarel.exe"
you must add the command lines outside of the final quote)
d) The command lines are as follows, depending on your accelerator card
manufacturer and chipset.
Chipset Command Line
Matrox Cards -avhpd -FDMATROX
PowerVR Cards -avhpd -FDPVR
Note - Some Matrox cards have powerVR chips on them so try both command lines
and see which is best.
ATI Cards -avhpd -FDATI
Rendition Cards -avhpd -FDRENDITION
1st Generation 3DFX Cards -avhsd -FD3DFX
(Non Voodoo Rush)
Permedia Cards -avhpd -FD3DLABS
Riva 128 Cards -avhpd -FDRIVA128
S3 Cards -avhpd -FDS3
Please note that the '-' must be included in the command line.
If this does not solve any graphical problems then, please ensure you have the
latest drivers for your accelerator card. These can usually be obtained from
the manufacturer or off their websites.
2. C.D Music
Some users of Soundblaster clone soundcards or cards that are not 100% Soundblaster
compatible, may experience problems when trying to adjust the in-game C.D music. If
this happens with your P.C setup, please minimise or exit MIA and adjust the C.D music
level from the volume control panel on the Windows taskbar.
3. Windows Desktop Colour Palette
On certain graphics cards running a 16Bit windows colour pallete or higher,
you might experience some graphical or sound problems. If this occurs try
changing the windows colour pallete the 16Bit (High Colour)
