  1. Duke Nukem 3D Theme for Windows 95 (v1.0)

  3. Obviously, this Desktop Theme for Windows95 is based on that wonderful
  4. time-waster ;)  Duke Nukem 3D.  Although it's not totally necessary, it
  5. would help to have Microsoft's Plus! pack installed on your system 
  6. already.

  8. INSTALLATION:
  9. Of course, the simplest way to install is to use WinZip.  Make backup 
  10. copies of your c:\logo.sys, c:\windows\logow.sys & c:\windows\logos.sys 
  11. files, then unzip the entire archive to the root of your "c:\" drive 
  12. with the "Use Folder Names" option enabled.
  13.  
  14. For those of you without WinZip, or using a different directory 
  15. structure, here's the long version... (still need to use something
  16. that understands long filenames to do the extract)
  17.  
  18. As above, make backup copies of your start-up & shut-down screens in 
  19. case you don't like mine :)  
  20.     -- extract logo.sys to the root of your startup drive (i.e. C:\)
  21.     -- extract logow.sys and logos.sys to your windows directory 
  22.        (C:\WINDOWS)
  23.     -- extract cu______.ttf to windows fonts directory 
  24.        (C:\WINDOWS\FONTS)
  25.     -- extract DukeSW.scr to the windows system directory
  26.        (C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM)
  27.     -- extract Duke Nukem.Theme to your Themes directory 
  28.        (C:\PROGRAM FILES\PLUS!\THEMES)
  29.     -- finally, extract everyting else (wavs, bmps, etc..) to a new 
  30.        'DUKE3D' directory below Themes 
  31.        (C:\PROGRAM FILES\PLUS!\THEMES\DUKE3D)

  33. That should do it !  Just use the Desktop Theme Chooser to select 
  34. your new Duke Nukem theme, and you're ready to rock.

  54. Some of this theme was built with bits & pieces found across the web, 
  55. some of it I built myself.  Use it, abuse it any way you see fit.
  56. The screen saver is a shareware version from Rhode Island Soft Systems.
  57. If you like it, they would like to make some profit from it! (i.e. it's
  58. not free) To keep my zip smaller, all I've included here is the actual
  59. screen saver module.  Their original zip (DK3DSSEP.ZIP) has some 
  60. additional backgrounds, soudns, etc...

  63. archive smaller, I only included the 1024x768 wallpaper file.  If you 
  64. run smaller, and don't have a way to resize it, let me know and I'll
