│ TACTICS by Bruno Fierens │
└─────────────────────────────┘
Requirements
────────────
TACTICS is written for 640x350 16 color mode. It will run on any
EGA or VGA video system.
Playing TACTICS
───────────────
TACTICS is a brain teaser. The aim of the game is to place the pieces
on the board in such a way that their colors match with the color
pattern of the board. This must be done, using the fewest possible
moves.
TACTICS supports up to 90 different game boards to challenge your
brain. Use the cursor keys or the mouse to select the position of
the pieces and the underlying pattern. As you select, you can see
the best scores under the patterns. During the game, everything can
be controlled from the panel with icons.
Icons :
Arrows = 8 different moves supported
? = Display help
Q = Quit game
X = Undo most recent move(s)
≡ = Select other board
Playing with keyboard :
Use the cursors keys to select the icon in the control panel. Press
enter for the desired function. Move the box on the board and press
enter to make a move. Press TAB or ESC to return to control panel.
Use spacebar to change direction at any time.
Playing with mouse :
Click on an icon for the desired function. Use mouse to position the
box on the board and click to make a move.
TACTICS scores
──────────────
Your score increments for each move you make. You can cycle a row
of 5 pieces and rotate 4 pieces for one point. If you swap two pieces,
you'll have 5 points. To have a good score, you must try to avoid
this function. Only use a swap at the end of the game if no other
moves are possible. In fact, most boards can be solved without using
this function.
Interpreting your scores
100 and more : Just playing around with the game or what ?
75 - 100 : You can do much better
50 - 75 : Beginners result
40 - 50 : Your concentration is pretty good
30 - 40 : Good result
20 - 30 : IQ must be higher than 130
20 and less : You are a genius
These are scores for an average board. Of course, some boards are
more difficult to play.
Best scores are saved in the file TACTICS.TOP . Delete this file to
