  17. This distribution contains Voodoo Banshee display drivers and control 
  18. panel for Windows NT 4.0 or higher.

  26. - Windows NT 4.0 or higher
  27. - PC with a Pentium II, Pentium Pro, Pentium or similar processor
  28. - 16MB of RAM or more Suggested
  29. - Video BIOS v1.00.03

  32. Fresh Installation / Upgrade Existing Drivers
  33. ---------------------------------------------
  34.  
  35. NOTE: For Fresh Installations, complete Steps 1 - 9 before removing 
  36. your existing 2D card.  If existing Voodoo Banshee drivers are being updated,
  37. installation is complete once step 9 is done.
  38.  
  39. 1) Extract the files for the Voodoo Banshee driver to a directory.
  40. 2) Log-in to Windows NT as Administrator.
  41. 3) Click Start, Contol Panel.  Double-click on Display.
  42. 4) Click the settings tab then click "Change"
  43. 6) Click "Have Disk" and enter the path to the extracted drivers.
  44. 7) When asked to choose a device, select "Voodoo Banshee"
  45. 8) You may then be prompted to insert the Windows NT Voodoo Banshee Driver Disk.
  46.    Enter the path to the drivers again.
  47. 9) Windows NT will copy the drivers.

  49. Steps 10-13 are only used during a fresh installation
  50.  
  51. 10) Power off the system and remove your existing 2D card.
  52. 11) Install the Voodoo Banshee Card in a free PCI/AGP Slot
  53. 12) Power on the system and verify that video appears during post
  54. 13) Start Windows NT.  If problems occur, revert to "Last Known Good"
  55.     from within the Windows NT startup options.

  58. Known Issues
  59. 1) Occasionally, when exiting Unreal, you come back to a black screen. 
  60. Your system has not crashed.   (Workaround: Move the mouse around and 
  61. click to regain the desktop back again.  To gain all colors back, right 
  62. click on the desktop to and select "Properties".  Select the Tab for 
  63. "Settings".   Change from your current display resolution to some other 
  64. resolution, then click back on your setting and hit "Apply".  For 
  65. example: I am running at 800x600, I slide the bar to 640x480, then I 
  66. slide the bar back to 800x600 and click "Apply".).

  68. 2) When playing Quake/Quake2 changing resolutions after you've begun 
  69. the game may result in a crash, with the following error message, 
  70. "Server was Killed" (Workaround: Do not attempt to change resolutions, 
  71. once you've begun playing the game).

  73. Installation Procedures for the following Game:

  75. Unreal
  76. 1)  Install Unreal.
  77. 2)  Download 2 patches.  From 3Dfiles, get "unrealpatch101.exe"  
  78. at http://www.3dfiles.com/patches/unreal.shtml.  Then go to Epic's 
  79. Unreal site at  http://unreal.epicgames.com/ and click on "Updates & 
  80. Patches" on the left and get the files entitled Version 209 Public 
  81. Beta  (UnrealBeta209.zip)
  82. 3)  Run the "unrealpatch101.exe" first by double clicking on it.  
  83. It will ask the location that Unreal was installed in.  Type it in 
  84. or browse to it's directory (e.g. C:\Unreal).
  85. 4)  Once that has completed, unzip the file "UnrealBeta209.zip" 
  86. into the directory C:\Unreal\System\ where C: is the drive you have 
  87. Unreal installed on.
  88. 5)  Start Unreal through the Start Menu>Programs>Unreal>Play 
  89. Unreal.exe and when it prompts you if you have a 3Dfx card installed, 
  90. choose "Yes".  When Unreal then tells you that "Unreal is only 
  91. compatible with Voodoo 1 and Voodoo 2 cards" and asks if you still 
  92. want to use your 3Dfx card, choose "Yes".
  93. 6)  Play Unreal!
