  31. Welcome to 3D-Win, Diamond`s 3D-Viewer for Windows NT and Windows95 
  32. This software is simple to use and offers a number of attractive

  35. - Fast "Read-in" of 3D-Models from AutoCAD and Mechanical Desktop 
  36. - Different shading modes (Flat, Gouraud, Phong usw.) accessible

  64. 2.1  Installation via CD ROM

  67.   1. Run the program "START" from the CD ROM

  71.   3. Follow the instructions on the screen. The installation routine will
  72.      decompress and copy various files onto your hard disk.

  80.     After installation of 3D-Win a new application window with 
  81.     the 3D-Win icon will be created. Double click on this icon to
  82.     start 3D-WIN. Further information is available through the

  87. 3   Troubleshooting Information and BugFixes

  89. 3D-Win: Known Restrictions and Bugs
  90.  
  91. . Problems in 8bit mode (256 Colors)
  92.     Windows system colors will be changed if you start 3D-Win in 8 bit
  93.     mode. We recommend that you configure your system in High-color or
  94.     true-color. (i.e. 2304x780 32768C for Dual-screen, 1280x1024 32768C
  95.     for Single-screen)

  97. . If 3D-Win has no connection to AutoCAD:
  98.     If 3D-Win is installed correctly, 3D-Win's ARX module will be loaded
  99.     automatically by AutoCAD, and shows a small sign-on box for a few seconds.
  100.     You can look for a file 'acad.rx' and check if 3D-Win is inserted, i.e.:
  101.     ...
  102.     c:\progra~2\diamond\_3dwin\3dwin.arx
  103.     ...
  104.     If 3D-Win's ARX module is not loaded by AutoCAD, perhaps another 
  105.     installation (e.g. MCAD) created a second 'acad.rx' or overwrote the
  106.     existing 'acad.rx'. Then you have to re-install 3D-Win, or merge the two
  107.     'acad.rx' files by hand (there should be only one 'acad.rx' on your disk).
  108.  
  109.   If you still have no connection to AutoCAD, restart AutoCAD 
  110.   and 3D-Win or reboot.
  111.  
  112. ｷ Not all AVI-compressed files provide quality playback. Good results
  113.   with high a compression rate is offered by codecs such as Cinepak
  114.   by Radius.

  116. . All AVI files run with the Mediaplayer from Microsoft.

  118. . Multiple AutoCAD and 3D-Win sessions
  119.     3D-Win does not support multiple AutoCAD sessions at one time.
  120.     3D-Win is only active for the first copy of AutoCAD started.
