General Notes
=============
1. Using 3D Blaster Savage4 on Super 7 systems
-----------------------------------------------
For Super 7 systems, it is essential to get the latest AGP GART
driver that supports this motherboard. Please contact the
respective motherboard vendors for this driver.
2. Intel/Phoenix Bios Seattle and Seattle 2 motherboards
--------------------------------------------------------
If the above motherboards' AGP aperture size is set to 256 MB,
the system could be suspended ('system hang') upon startup.
Please get the system bios that fixes this problem from Intel's
Web site.
3. Refresh rate control
-----------------------
In order to have display refresh rate control under Windows 95/98,
it is mandatory to set the monitor type correctly. Please refer
to the Windows manual or Help file for monitor selection
instruction.
Known problems
==============
A. Games compatibilities
-------------------------
1. Epic's 'UNREAL'
When you run the game, UNREAL, in OpenGL mode, you will see
some performance degradation. Check our Web site for any
new driver that fixes this problem. Alternatively, run the
game in Direct3D mode instead.
2. Id's 'Quake II'
You may see distorted color texture after the demo
session of this game.
This can be easily fixed by turning off the '8-bit
texture' under the 'Video' option.
Look out for new driver that fixes this problem in our
web site.
B. With Windows 9x
-------------------
1. Incorrect display driver installed
For Windows 95 (Retail version only) systems, the
incorrect display driver may get installed during OS or
DirectX installation. When this happens, the system will
always run in VGA mode only.
To solve this problem:
a. Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
b. In the Control Panel window, double-click the System
icon.
c. In the System Properties dialog box, click the
Device Manager tab.
d. Under "Display Adapters, select the additional
"S3" display driver and then click the Remove button.
e. In the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the
OK button.
f. In the Control Panel window, double-click the Display
icon.
g. In the Display Properties dialog box, click the
Settings tab.
h. In the Color Palette box, set the display mode to
256 colours and above.
i. Restart your system.
2. System hang after Windows Splash screen (AGP card only)
On certain system, you may experience system hang after
Windows Splash screen to give a black screen with only
the hourglass pointer.
When the above happen, start the Windows in Safe mode and
run the BlasterControl. Uncheck the option 'Sideband
protocol' and restart the Windows. The system hang
problem should not happen anymore.
3. System hang after running DirectX 6 games
some system may see system hang after running any
DirectX 6 game for a while.
When the above happen, start the Windows in Safe mode and
run the BlasterControl. Uncheck the option 'Sideband
protocol' and restart the Windows. The system hang
problem should not happen anymore.
