  53. - One free PCI slot (or two free PCI slots for SLI)

  56. Installation
  57. ------------

  59. The setup program must be run under Windows NT to install the Windows 
  60. NT drivers and 3Dfx device services.  The account used during install
  61. must have administrator privileges.

  63. 1) Run the self-extracting executable to begin setup.
  64. 2) Follow the on screen prompts.
  65. 3) After installation you may need to reboot the system.

  73. Q: I have an S3 968/868 video card, why does my system lock
  74. up when I run a Glide or Direct3D title.
  75.  
  76. A: S3 968 and 868 chipsets may misreport the mapped memory used.
  77. There is a chance that your Voodoo2 card will be assigned by 
  78. Plug and Play a memory range that is used by the S3 card, but
  79. not reported.   The Voodoo2 card can be relocated by:
  80.  
  81.     Windows NT Users: An NT service called NTREMAP is 
  82.         installed when Glide is added to an NT system.
  83.     NTREMAP can change the memory address of a Voodoo2 
  84.     board and prevent a conflict with an S3 card.
  85.  
  86.     To use NTREMAP, add the following registry values to:
  87.     \HKLM\Software\3Dfx Interactive\NTRemap
  88.

  91.     EnableNTRemap    DWORD    1 (HEX) 
  92.     ForceAddress    DWORD    12000000 (HEX)
  93.  
  94.     The Force Address setting will vary, in this example
  95.     0x12000000 is used.  This is normally free on most
  96.     systems.

  98.     NOTE: If you use an address that over-writes another
  99.     device, Windows NT may not boot.  If such a problem 
  100.     occurs, power off the system and remove your Voodoo2.
  101.     Alter the registry to use a different memory range 
  102.     (or remove the ForceAddress setting). Then Reinstall
  103.     the Voodoo2 card into your system.
