Installation Procedures for the following Games:
Unreal
1) Install Unreal on your harddrive. If possible, install to the root of
the C Drive (eg. c:\unreal)
2) Run the Unreal game patch: Unrealfx.exe on the Restoration CD provided with
your system. The file: Unrealfx.exe can be found in the (\Win95-98\Display\Banshee\Unreal)
Directory on this CD.
3) The game patch will prompt you to unzip and overwrite the files to the \Unreal\System
directory. (The "Unzip to Folder" will default to: C:\Unreal\System. If you've installed Unreal
here, hit Unzip. If not, you will have to type in the correct folder where you've installed Unreal).
4) Once you are sure you have the correct path to your Unreal installation hit "Unzip"
5) A message will appear letting you know that you've unzipped the files successfully and the Unreal
patch ReadMe will come up.
6) Close the readme and begin playing Unreal.
Quake2 (NOTE: Quake2 will run in software mode as a default. You must set up 3D Hardware acceleration
for it to work.) Here's how:
1) Install Quake2.
2) Run Quake2. Select the Video menu item.
3) In the Video menu, go to driver (it should say "software") and select "3Dfx OpenGL".
4) In the Video menu, go to resolution and set it to any resolution up to 800x600. (NOTE: To run at
resolution higher than 800x600, you will need to install the updated 3Dfx OpenGL driver. See instructions
on installing updated OpenGL drivers below.)
5) Begin playing Quake2.
Hexen2
1) Install Hexen2.
2) To run Hexen2 with 3D Hardware acceleration, double-click on the file: GLH2.exe. (NOTE: H2.exe
will run the game in the software accelerated mode.)
3) The game should now run with 3D Hardware acceleration. (NOTE: To run at resolution higher than
800x600, you will need to install the updated 3Dfx OpenGL driver. See instructions on installing
updated OpenGL drivers below.)
4) Play Hexen2!
Quake
1) Install Quake.
2) Update Quake to latest version, 1.06. Obtain the patch
directly from iD Software, at: http://www.idsoftware.com/quake/index.html.
The file is named: q101-106.zip
3) Patch your current version of Quake by unzipping the file
into your Quake directory. Overwrite any file and then run patch.exe

Installing updated OpenGL Drivers.
1) Before installing updated OpenGL Drivers, you must have one or all of the following games
installed on your harddrive for update: Quake, Quake2, Hexen2 (NOTE: This installer only works if these
games are already installed).
2) Exit and close any of the games mentioned above.
3) Find the file: OGLInst.exe on the Restoration CD provided with your system. The file: OGLInst.exe
can be found in the (\Win95-98\Display\Banshee\OpenGL) Directory on this CD.
4) Double-click on: OGLInst.exe to extract the zipped files (extract files to a temporary directory
such as: C:windows\temp).
5) Go to the directory where you've unzipped the files and find: OGLInst.exe. Double-click to
begin installation.
6) Follow the installation instructions (if you have problems, refer to the enclosed readme).
7) The installer will search for any of the games listed above and will update them with the latest
OpenGL Drivers.
8) When finished, one of three things will happen (depending on your
operating system):
- A box will pop up telling you that the installation worked.
If this happens, that's great! You can play your games!
- A box will pop up saying that the installation worked, but you
need to restart your computer. If this happens, you need to go to
Start/Shut Down/Restart in order for the changes to take effect.
After the computer restarts you can play your games!
- A box will pop up saying that the installation failed.
If this happens, follow the steps above to restart your computer,
and then rerun this installer.
