  2. Get ready to shred the skies in the PC's wildest ride!  Bullfrog Productions, 
  3. the creators of Populous (tm) and Syndicate (tm), are pleased to present this 
  4. demo version of Magic Carpet (tm)-- a highly original title featuring a 
  5. perfect balance of cutting edge technology and addictive gameplay. 
  6.  
  7. You command the world's fastest, most devastating Magic Carpet, blasting your 
  8. enemies and banking S turns at breakneck speeds over astonishing fractal 
  9. landscapes, landscapes you can forge or destroy in real-time.  Fire off a 
  10. Volcano spell and the earth stretches up to the sky, erupting with molten 
  11. lava.  Or launch a Crater at an opposing castle and watch the walls melt 
  12. before your eyes.

  14. But don't spend too much time playing god with the earth, you've got work to 
  15. do.  The magic energy of 50 different worlds needs to be restored and you'll 
  16. have to blast through  dozens of computer controlled wizards, brutal beasts 
  17. and networked human players to succeed.

  19. Your mission in Magic Carpet is simple, collect as much of the golden balls 
  20. of "manna" as you can.  To do this, you'll have to cast your "possession" 
  21. spell at the golden manna (changing the color of the balls to white).  
  22. You'll want to build a castle right away in the world to store all the manna 
  23. you collect (and be sure to expand your castle as often as possible).

  25. To fly your carpet, use the mouse or joystick for directional control and
  26. the arrow keys to control your speed.  To access all your spells, click 
  27. both mouse buttons simultaneously and then select your desired spell by 
  28. clicking on it with either mouse button.  2 player Network play (the 
  29. shipping vesion allows up to 8 players!) can be accessed at the game set-up 
  30. screen.  To load Magic Carpet for network play type "carpet -network" at 
  31. the dos prompt.  Use the Function keys to change your options once the game 
  32. has loaded. To quit the game, press Shift-Q.

  34. This is a 2-level, networkable demo of Magic Carpet.    We hope you like it.
