  2.                            AOpen Flash Utility Readme
  3.                            ==========================

  5. Please make sure that you have the correct BIOS ready and follow below
  6. instruction to reprogram the new BIOS.
  7.

  9. [AOFLASH.EXE]
  10.  
  11.         This utility will try to reprogram your system BIOS by using flash
  12.         memory technology. It will permanently replace your original BIOS
  13.         content after flashing. Please make sure you have wrote down your 
  14.     BIOS settings so that you can reconfigure them after flasing. 
  15.  
  16.         1. Clean Boot -- Bootup the system from floppy drive without loading 
  17.        any memory manager (HIMEM, EMM386, QEMM386, ...).
  18.         2. Execute "aoflash ********.BIN".
  19.         3. After loading the new BIOS code, the utility will show
  20.            "New BIOS CKSUM: ####h" on the screen. CKSUM stands for CHECKSUM.
  21.         4. Compare the "####h" with original CHECKSUM posted on Web or BBS.
  22.            If they are in different, please do not proceed any further
  23.            and try to download the BIOS again.
  24.         5. After confirming the correct BIOS checksum, you may save the 
  25.            original BIOS code into your floppy disk. Please press "Y"
  26.        to store it as "BIOS.OLD".
  27.         6. After the old BIOS has been secussfully saved, press "Y" to 
  28.        replace BIOS. 
  29.         7. DO NOT turn off the power during "FLASHING".
  30.         8. Reboot the system by turn off the power after "FLASHING".
  31.         9. Press "DEL" key to enter BIOS setup during POST.
  32.         10.Reload the "BIOS SETUP DEFAULT" and reconfigure other items
  33.            as previous set.
  34.         11.Save & Exit. Done!

  36.     Note: You may load back original BIOS "BIOS.OLD" by the same 
  37.           procedure.

  40. local distributor for further information.
