  1. 1 Installation
  2. ================================

  4. 1.1. Insert installation diskette in the floppy drive.
  5. 1.2. Go to Control Panel -> Add New Hardware
  6. 1.3. Select "No" when asked if you want the Windows to search for the new
  7.      hardware.
  8. 1.4. Select "Sound, video and game controllers" from
  9.      the hardware list.
  10. 1.5. Click "Have disk...", type "A:\" in the browser
  11.      dialog box and click OK. You will see three lines in the list.
  12. 1.6. Select one of the driver in the list, then click OK.
  13. 1.7. If you want to continue install other drivers in the list.
  14.      Do not select reboot, and follow steps from 1.2 to 1.6.
  15. 1.7. Reboot.
  16. 1.8. After installation is complete run Media Player. In the "Device"
  17.      menu you should see
  18.         - MCI Overlay Driver

  22. 2.  Trident CODEC driver tricodc.drv
  23. ====================================

  25. 2.1. The enclosed tricodc.drv is a 32 bit version codec
  26.      driver for Windows 95.
  27.  
  28. 2.2. Before installing this codec driver, you need to
  29.      install 9385 display driver and DirectDraw.
  30.      So Windows 95 can provide DirectDraw services.
  31.      Otherwise, this codec driver will not detect
  32.      DirectDraw services, and will try to use GDI
  33.      services, which results in less quality video.

  35. 2.3. You can now use Media Player to play the avi
  36.      files captured using trident 9385 capture
  37.      drivers.

  39. 2.4. Known bugs:
  40.      i) Only part size of video is shown if the window
  41.         size is smaller than the video size in video
  42.         buffer (Current DirectDraw driver can not
  43.         handle scaling down).
