PROGRAM LONG DESCRIPTION:
ActivIcons allows you to customize the Windows desktop icon and cursor attributes. Swap your own, custom icons for Network Neighborhood, My Computer, and other icons which Windows places on your desktop and Explorer file manager. It also lets you quickly change the default Windows mouse cursors, make the icon text labels transparent, change the color of desktop icon text descriptions, replace the Windows startup and shutdown screens, rebuild the Windows icon cache, increase the size of the Windows desktop cache, replace various drive and folder icons, remove shortcut symbols, restore the desktop default icons, save/restore the positions of desktop icons, replace the IE and OE logo animations, change or hide the desktop's "Start" button, change IE Favorites icons, and more. System requirements: Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000 or XP; 4 Mb free disk space.

INSTALLING ActivIcons
------------------------------
Once you have unzipped the installation files, simply use
the SETUP.EXE program to place ActivIcons on your system.

UNINSTALLING / REMOVING FROM YOUR SYSTEM
----------------------------------------
If you decide that you no longer wish to use ActivIcons
on your system, simply go to the Windows Control panel
and use "Add/Remove Programs" to delete the
ActivIcons.EXE files and directory folder.
Removing ActivIcons will not cause your original icons
to be restored. To do this, use the button at the lower
right of the ActivIcons screen to restore the default
Windows icons prior to deleting ActivIcons.EXE.

USING THE PROGRAM

To begin using ActivIcons, run ACTIVICON.EXE. Once the
ActivIcons window appears, click on the top dial to switch
screens to begin making changes to your system. You will
notice a "?" button at the lower/left side of the screen.
Click on this button, then move the cursor to click on an
item about which you would like to see more information.
Also notice that the text at the top of the screen
changes to describe the icons and controls underneath the
cursor.
The various on-screen help topics and ACTIVICON.HLP help
file contain hints and instructions about using ActivIcons.
Once you have finished making your changes, click again on
the "On/Off" button to exit the program. If you only wish
to minimize the ActivIcons window, click on the small
round button at the right side of the screen.

which are being run).
* A description of the problem, how it occurred, and how to
reproduce it.
We will attempt to answer freeware questions as time permits,
