  21.     Windows 3.1, windows compatible PC computer, windows compatible
  22.     VGA display with 640x480 resolution or higher, 3 Meg RAM, 
  23.     3 Meg free on hard disk.

  25.     YOU MUST BE RUNNING WINDOWS IN 386 ENHANCED MODE. Do not start 
  26.     Windows with the /S or /R switches. See your Windows Manual for 
  27.     more information on startup memory modes.

  30.         Windows 3.1, windows compatible 386/486+ computer running at 25Mhz+,
  31.         windows compatible SVGA display with 640x480 resolution or higher, 
  32.         16+ colors, 4+ Meg RAM, 5+ Meg free on hard disk, Mouse.

  34. LATEST VERSION:
  35. ===============
  36.     Your copy of our keno game for Windows may not be the latest
  37.     version    currently available. We are constantly updating, improving, 
  38.     and fixing bugs in this program. Therefore, you should check the 
  39.     Windows Fun Forum on CompuServe or call our BBS System 
  40.     to download the latest version. 
  41.  
  42. INSTALLATION:
  43. =============
  44.     To install this game from the distribution diskette, simply 
  45.     copy the file "PCKENO.ZIP" to the desired directory ("\PCKENO" 
  46.     suggested) on your hard disk and unzip the file with the latest
  47.     version of PKUNZIP. 
  48.  
  49.     Next, run the program called KENOLOAD.EXE. This is a self-installing
  50.     packed file and running it will unpack and install all the needed 
  51.     files and programs. Once the self-install process is complete, the
  52.     files KENOLOAD.EXE and PCKENO.ZIP can be removed. However, you 
  53.     should always retain copies of these files on diskette or tape 
  54.     just in case you need to reinstall them in the future. 
  55.  
  56.     If a message appears asking you whether or not you wish to replace
  57.     an existing file in the PCKENO directory, answer with a "Y". DO
  58.     NOT USE    OLD FILES WITH A NEW VERSION - FATAL ERRORS WILL RESULT.
  59.  
  60.     NOTE: After the installation process is complete, the install
  61.     program will try to run the game program automatically. This 
  62.     should be successful providing the install process was completed
  63.     and Windows could find a valid copy of the VBRUN300.DLL file in
  64.     the PCKENO directory or in the common WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. 
  65.  
  66.     To start the game manually, run the file PCKENO.EXE from Windows
  67.     File Manager or click on the PCKENO icon installed into the GAMES
  68.     Program Group (or the program group you selected).
  69.  
  70.     NOTE: Be sure you are running Windows Version 3.1 or higher and you
  71.     are running Windows in "386 Enhanced Mode" (not Standard Mode). Check
  72.     your \WINDOWS directory    and see if you have a WIN.BAT file. 
  73.     Be sure the WIN.COM or WIN command in the batch file DOES NOT include
  74.     the /S switch. This causes Windows to start in Standard Mode. Be sure 
  75.     the command is followed by blanks or /E to insure you start in Enhanced
  76.     Mode. Otherwise, this game may not operate correctly. If you cannot see
  77.     the 386 Enhanced Program Item (icon = computer chip) on the Windows 
  78.     Control Panel, then you are not running Windows in the Enhanced Mode. 
  79.     Please see your Windows Users Manual for more information.
  80.  
  81.     Also, once you are running Windows in 386 Enhanced Mode, you should set
  82.     up as large a Permanent Swap File (not Temporary) as Windows will allow.
  83.     This allows Windows to use free disk space as computer memory and it will
  84.     allow you to run bigger programs. This is done from Windows Control Panel
  85.     with the 386 Enhanced Icon.
  86.  
  87.     This program was written in Visual Basic V3.0 and REQUIRES the Visual Basic
  88.     V 3.0 Runtime Library file called VBRUN300.DLL (included). Be sure
  89.     this file is located in the same directory where you loaded and unzipped
  90.     PCKENO.EXE.
  91.  
  92.     NOTE: Occasionally, Microsoft will release an updated VBRUN300.DLL file
  93.     which will correct some bugs in their runtime modules. You should 
  94.     periodically compare the date/time/size of this file to the latest
  95.     one available on CompuServe in the Microsoft MBASIC+ Forum. If a 
  96.     later one is released, please download it and place it in the 
  97.     PCKENO directory. This game will use it automatically from then on.
  98.  
  99. ERRORS AT STARTUP
  100. =================
  101.     If you encounter either of the following two errors at startup:
  102.  
  103.         1) "OVERFLOW"
  104.         2) "Invalid Control Index"
  105.  
  106.     then the startup files (PCKENO.DEF, PCKENO.Pxx, & PCKENO.SAV)
  107.     may be corrupted or may be the wrong version. Try renaming these
  108.     files to something else and restarting the program. The program
  109.     will then use its own internal game settings since it will not 
  110.     be able to find these files. 
  111.  
  112.     You should first try renaming the PCKENO.DEF and restarting the
  113.     game. 99% of the time this file is causing the problem.
  114.  
  115.     If you still have problems after trying this procedure, please contact
