The Features described below could not be described in the current user manual.
We recommend that you print out this document and put it into your manual
folder for quick reference.
Arrange Window
Part Appearance
The "Show Events" option will now display the name of the Part and its contents.
Editors
Handling of the [Clr Home] Key
If there are any events selected, the song position will now be set to the
start of the first selected event. If no events are selected, it will move to
the left side of the window. This does not apply to Score Edit.
Cutting Edge
You can now change the length of a number of notes at the same time, by using
the Compasses tool. Simply drag a line over the notes and release the mouse
button. The length of all the notes changes. If you hold down [Alternate], the
beginning of the notes will be cut off instead. This can be used to make a
number of notes start at the same position, without affecting where they end.
This does not apply to Score Edit.
Sizing of Multiple Notes
The pencil will now size all selected notes. The same amount of ticks will be
added to all notes (if you for example add a quarter note to one note, all notes
will become one quarter note longer). If you hold down [Control], the changes
is proportional instead (for example, if you make one note twice as long, all
selected notes will become twice as long).
Compute Scale
This new option on the pop-up Functions menu in the editors is for users of
the StyleTrax Module, and is described in the StyleTrax documentation.
Position Ruler
The rulers will now dim ranges outside the Part(s) being edited. This does
not apply to Score Edit.
List Edit
Display of the Currently Played Event
The currently played event will now get a (red) dotted frame.
Event Filter Switches
The event is now visible if the "button" is black.
Key Edit
Transpose
If the Ear Button is turned on, you will now hear the pitch change when you
move the notes vertically (as it has always been in Score Edit).
Mixer
Text Objects
The text objects' backgrounds can now be transparent (Hollow) or in one of
five different gray scales. There are also more justification options for the
text inside the object.
Arbitrary Object Size
All Objects can now be of (almost) any size.
Mixer Map Design Aid
On the pop-up Options menu you will now find an align function for the
objects. This behaves like the alignment function in most drawing programs.
The commands "Bring to Front" and "Send Behind" now allow you to easily
create background objects.
Map Locking
To prevent unwanted moving of objects you can lock them.
Framed Object Names
A frame can be applied to an Object's Name and Instrument. This is down with
a switch in the Mixer Map Options dialog, found on the pop-up Options menu.
The setting is valid for all objects in the map.
Fine Move of Objects
∙ When the Arrow tool is visible you can move the selected objects with
the cursor keys.
∙ Hold down [Shift] and the width or height of the object will be changed
instead.
Number Fields Value Change
By holding down [Control] and dragging up and down, you can now change
the value of a field like if the screen was an invisible fader (like in other
parts of Cubase).
Local-Write-Replace Mode pop-up
The current mode is now be selected from a pop-up menu.
Local Menu Entries
The different entries in the Local menu are now only enabled if the
appropriate tool is selected. The formatting options are only available
when the Arrow or the New Object tools are selected. The "Delete range"
item is only available if the Play tool or one of the Erase tools are selected.
Miscellaneous
Windows
Windows can now be moved past the right side of the screen.
Number Input with Keyboard
∙ When the computer keyboard is used for entering numbers, the current
value will be placed into a box. As soon as the first key is pressed the current
text will be replaced.
∙ If the first key pressed is an arrow key, the cursor will be moved to the
right without deleting any text.
∙ Backspace will now only delete the last character in the text.
