FANSI version 1.00
* PRE-REGISTERED TAF EDITION *
Installation Documentation
==============================
THE CONTENTS OF THIS DISK MAY NOT BE DISTRIBUTED!
1. Installation
===============
Your pre-registred TAF edition of FANSI should contain the following files:
INSTALL.TOS - The Installation Program
INSTALL.DAT - Installation Data
INSTALL.DOC - This Documentation
To install FANSI on a hard disk, load INSTALL.TOS and follow the on-screen
instructions. You will be asked for your name and your full address, as well
as a path to which you would like FANSI to install.
The installation program will create all necessary directories, including
the one FANSI itself will reside in. You need not create these.
Once you have supplied your personal information and the path, INSTALL
will then go about installing itself. This should only take a couple of
minutes. After the installation process is complete, you will return to
desktop where you may go into the path INSTALL has created and load
FANSI100.TOS, or read the user documentation, FANSI100.DOC.
2. Floppy Disk Installation
===========================
To install FANSI on to a floppy disk, you will need a blank disk that has
been formatted (double-sided) to a minimum of 9 sectors and 80 tracks.
After entering your personal information, select A:\ as your path name.
INSTALL will direct you to insert a blank, formatted disk. Once you have done
so, press any key and FANSI will install itself on that floppy disk.
Due to the amount of disk-swapping that would be required to install FANSI
to a floppy from a floppy disk, disk-swapping is not supported. You must
create a RAM-disk of 650k and copy INSTALL.TOS and INSTALL.DAT to the RAM-disk
and then load the program from there.
3. Memory and Space Requirements
================================
INSTALL has been written to be as memory-friendly as possible. However,
it will still require approximately 150k of free memory in order to operate.
In addition, FANSI will require approximately 650k of free space in order
to install. Please insure that you have enough free space before installing.
