A Quick Guide to 'Sound Lab' by DMJ (quickly typed by MUG U.K┐)
---------------------------------------------------------------
This is a quick guide to help those not so fortunate in the understandings
of this superb sample-editor called 'Soundlab' by DMJ.
I shan't ramble on about its nice user-interface and the fact that the
program is GFA BASIC, and that, although it is a TOS program, it actually
has a proper mouse driver and pull-down menus to boot (I wonder if this
guy is selling this interface for other GFA utility coders ??).
Anyway, this is the nearest program I've seen to Audiomaster III (or IV)
on the Amiga. With this program you can do all the usual sample editing
things like; cut, paste, echo, reverse, zoom in/out and you can ALSO
alter the volume of the sample and alter the speed as well. These last
two functions are ideal for Sound/Protracker musicians.
Onw word of warning: When cutting and pasting, the blue area is the bit
you are going to keep !!
One nice facility is the 'High Bit' option. This will convert Amiga format
samples to ST Format (ST Replay etc.) and vice versa.
The 'Help' & 'Prefs' options have been disabled or are not functioningg yet,
but why not send the author the $20 he requires and get your own version
with a full manual and much more besides.
As I said before, this is a quick guide and nothing more. Support the
shareware system and send this guy some money - he deserves it !!
Bye for now,
MUG U.K┐ (of The Source)
